Nouble Delighted to Join Town
Tuesday, 8th Jan 2013 15:14

New striker Frank Nouble says he's delighted to have joined Town from Wolves and says manager Mick McCarthy and his assistant Terry Connor were big factors in his decision to move to Portman Road. The 21-year-old signed an 18-month contract earlier today, the clubs having agreed an undisclosed fee.

Nouble said: “I’m delighted to be here and looking forward to playing for such a good club as Ipswich.

“I trained this morning and the enthusiasm that the manager and Terry have for the game is fantastic.

“They were big factors in me coming here. Mick McCarthy was interested in me when I was at West Ham and I worked with Terry for a while after joining Wolves in the summer. They are two people who have a lot of respect in the game.

“I know it’s going to be a battle to get in the side but I’m relishing the challenge and can’t wait to get going here.”

RetroBlue: who knows? We'll find out soon enough I guess. I still hope that JET gets given a run in the team at some point, he has the skills, just not the work ethic.

I just love the way that . . . there's interest. . .; the signing is imminent . . .; then it's complete. No more 'umming and 'arring. If nothing else MM gets it done and it's quick. How refreshing.

Just hope he's good . . . I suspect if MM rates him then there's no need to worry. Probably the only person who got in his way at Wolves was Kevin Doyle . . . no small obstacle.

Just found this from 2008-09 . Not sure but does that make him 17yrs old when these were taken ? Blimey , he's a bloody man mountain then !!

My guess is that Chopra, Ellington, Scotland, Murray and possibly even JET may all be leaving. We are going to have a very strong strike force without them. Maybe we can sign N'Daw and Murphy on reduced wages, but MM seems keener on NRC than the former. He was quality.

Seen him play for Gillingham v Hereford and he looked ok but not anywhere near Chamionship standard. But then same said by Forest fans about McGoldric and they are both young and we have coaches to work with them (at last). I am sure he is not on big wages and it is this kind of young hungry player that we've been calling for so lets see how it pans out.

But agree - we do need a creative energetic CM and a proper wide man or else the strikers will comntinue to chase lost causes. Martin at attacking midfield anyone - he tackles, can pass, can take a player on....

Glad we have signed someone rather than on loan!

Good luck to the boy, lets hope he can score a few for us.

Certainly looking unlikely we will be getting Campbell, my money is on he will be going to Palace.

Ellington and Scotland will leave at the end of the season if not in Jan. Mclean will go back to Hull if they want silly money or we buy Campbell
Murray does not look like he is going to make the grade for us so I think will be on his way
Nouble another Jet maybe, they can see what he could be but not sure so he got 18 months to prove it.
Can see Jet going if we can sell as McCarthy does not come across as being a big fan of Jet,
Chopra McCarthy seems to like so bench but may go if we sign Campbell.
Murphy wiill go end of season as we have McGoldrick possible but for sure if again we sign Campbell.

But as its my opinion could be totally wrong as I never saw any of these signing happening
