Milne: Town Not Up for Sale
Tuesday, 12th Feb 2013 16:51

Joint-managing director Ian Milne (pictured left) has dismissed claims that Town are up for sale. Rumours that owner Marcus Evans is looking to sell the club he bought in late 2007 have been circulating for a number of weeks, gaining pace on Twitter earlier today.

However, Milne, who took on the role of joint-managing director along with fellow board member Jonathan Symonds after Simon Clegg’s departure last week, has rejected the claims.

“Unsolicited interest has been expressed from time to time, but none have involved any serious offer or any attempt to follow up," he said. "The club is not up for sale.”

"Mr Evans deep down knows his money is safe and he know Mick will get us up in the premier league and then he will start to claw some of his money back and even make money. "

What planet are you on ?

It will be an achievement if MM can keep us in the Championship. The money going into other clubs will ensure that we, at best, are a lower nid table team.

Were some miracle ever to happen and we got to the Premier League every penny will be needed to keep us there or we will be straight back into the Chamionship. The truth of the matter is MEI are merely using the club as some tax avoidance scheme, that's why the debt has been steadily growing.

And the root cause of all this lies at the door of one person. Sheepshanks. He was he the person who introduced and recommeded Marcus Evans. It was him who put us into the position where Marcus Evans was the answer. Whatever the failings of Marcus Evans the ultimate responsibility lies with the man who handed over the club to him.

At the moment, unless there is a change of ownership, I cannot see anything that is going to change our decade long decline - and worryingly the club that has been stuck in this division the longest looks like getting out only one way. Downward.

Very sad, sad times

JWM

As you quite rightly sa, its good to have a debate without it being a slagging match. At the end of the day football is all based on opinions which everyone is entilted too.

Lets all just get behind the team at the weekend and beyond. Its an important time for the club on the pitch
