October Turns Down Loan Move Tuesday, 3rd Sep 2013 06:00 Left-back David October turned down a loan move to a non-league side as he’d prefer to go to a Football League club, manager Mick McCarthy has revealed. “I spoke to Rocco the other day, we had an enquiry about him, but not from a league club," the Blues boss said. “Fair play to him, he wants to play in the U21s and see if he can get a league club, which I fully expect he could.” October, 18, signed a one-year contract after completing the second year of his academy scholarship at the end of last season. Strikers Jack Marriott and Tom Winter and midfielders Mark Timlin and Jonny Leddy signed pro terms at the same time as October and McCarthy is keen to get players at their stage of development out on loan if possible, but so far without receiving any interest: “Nobody else, if somebody else came in I’d talk to them.” Football League clubs are able to sign players on short-term loans of up to three months from next week.
