Hunt Would Love to Stay
Thursday, 14th Nov 2013 15:46

New signing Stephen Hunt wants to stay with Town beyond the end of his current two-month deal. The 32-year-old Irish international, who was released by Wolves in the summer, joined the Blues last Friday and made his debut as a sub in the 3-2 win at Blackpool.

Speaking in an interview with Ipswich Player, Hunt said he’d love to extend his stay: “I’m delighted to be here. This is a great football club and I want to do well for the lads here and the gaffer.

“I’m enjoying my work and if you enjoy your work then hopefully that shows through on a Saturday.

“Hopefully I can stay here beyond January, I'd love to. The proof will be in the pudding though. In six weeks, you might be saying thank God we got rid of him!

“I know what the gaffer is all about having worked with him before [at Wolves]. If I train well and play well I’ll be in the team and if I don’t then I won’t. It’s as simple as that.”

Just tidy up that mop of wild hair Stephen and the rest will follow.

I believe the proverb is: The proof of the pudding is in the eating. And that goes for the whole squad.

Lathers, I don't give a fook about his hair. If he plays well and adds some quality to the team, I don't care if his hair is halfway down his back! Come on Hunty.

I'll never knock a trier. So long as he works hard and wants to be here then good luck to him.

That's as maybe bluehook, but a bit of pride in personal appearance (he's representing ITFC FFS) goes a long way. I think you'll agree that the best groomed premiership players are generally the better players in the league.

Lets just agree that he should wear his hair in a french platt (just to get it out of his face) but as long as he adds some much needed flair and creativity then I can just about live with his tardy appearance.

I've got amazing hair - a thatch to be proud of - but I'm sh*t at football. French plait or not.

To quote Partridge; "The proof is in the pudding and in this case the pudding is a football! ".

He was by far the best player in Monday's Under 21's match.
The first time in years that I have seen a senior player give 100% throughout a reserve match. His movement on and off the ball was pure class. Having said that, Alan Lee put in a good shift in too!

Any player of the late 70's and 80's would be proud of hair like that and look at how many of the all time great players did we have then

You are all putting too much emphasis on promotion. I want my team team well turned out with shirts tucked in, socks pulled up and hair short back and sides. Until that happens I will not be renewing my season ticket.

Haircut did wonders for adrian paz..... hmmm hang on a minute.

Keep the hair it adds some much needed character to the squad. Good lad, sounds like he is well up for it, which is exactly what the fans want to hear. Put them all on a pay-as-play scheme!

He's a good player. MM discounted the chances of getting him because of his salary being beyond our means and us having sufficient left sided wide men. Time will tell however, he is in the building and if he does well and if he wants a contract accepting our terms - we will sign him. Tunnicliffe is a loan and Tabb has played out wide, but I think Hunt is a proper left winger and Tabb and Tunnicliffe could play inside alongside Skuse (if Skuse isn't playing right back like he did in the 1st half at B/pool). He is in our price range, ie, free and it does like increasingly like Wordsworth isn't in Mick's plans.... Don't be surprised if we have Hunt all year.

Sir Bobby gave my godfather the boot from the squad 'back in the day' because he wouldn't have a haircut. True story bro.

So there is history of the requirement for a neat hair cut to play for our beloved club. Ahhhh.... TWTD....

Personally..I don't care, so long as he puts in a good shift.

Can't help thinking it's defo the Mick McCarthy factor why he wants to stay longer - hope he does well in the next 2 months and on the basis of that a further decision will no doubt be made.
