Town Confirm Marriott Deal
Wednesday, 11th Dec 2013 18:53

Town have confirmed that striker Jack Marriott has signed an 18-month contract. The 19-year-old, whose previous terms were up at the end of the season, has scored seven goals in six games while on loan at Woking.

Marriott told the club site: “Obviously I’m delighted to have been offered a new contract.

"It’s what I’ve been aiming for, to win a new deal, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m really enjoying my time on loan at Woking and I’m scoring a few goals.

“It’s given me a boost in confidence. I feel I have improved as a player and with signing a new deal as well, things are going well for me. I’ve just got to keep working hard to make sure it stays that way.”

Good day for the club. Hopefully both will help us to the premiership.

Great news, these deals never happened when Keane & Clegg were in charge, just shows how useless they were and put our club back years. Good to know we have the right people in the right places again and concentrate on our youth policy.

Whats happened here? We uses to deem our young prospects surplus to requirements only for them to come back and bite us a few years later. This just wont do! Let him go to Huddersfield town for considerably less than he is worth at once!

On Fifa when you sign a player you can say what their squad status will be, I wonder hat his would be...

Delighted that he's signed but 18 months isn't giving him a lot of time to develop. Could be good because he knows he has to produce straight away to get a new deal, could be bad because if he does do well, then we could have a player that all the big clubs want with only 6 months remaining on his contract. Hope we've added the chance to extend if we want to.

Out of shot of the camera is a GIANT chip butty with extra Mayonnaise for the guy on the left to refuel on, after all these new players contract negotiations he probably needs those extra calories.

I think that Santa may have visited Portman Road a little early - both new contracts are excellent news, both from a football perspective and, perhaps, a financial one too. A positive result at Forest on Saturday would cap one of the best weeks in a long long time. And this Northumbrian exile has bought his ticket for the Watford game - 600 mile round trip - and a positive New Year to look forward to. COYB!

Let's concentrate on those goals for Woking.....at any level those finishes are class!!! What's more pleasing from my point of view is that he is in the right position at the right time. He has pace,a pass, a trick and can finish...no brainier he will be in towns first team next season if not sooner. Let's just let him enjoy his time at Woking until the new year and see what happens from there. But I have a good feeling about this kid. Does anyone else think he is abit like Ross McCormack??
