Town have confirmed that striker Jack Marriott has signed an 18-month contract. The 19-year-old, whose previous terms were up at the end of the season, has scored seven goals in six games while on loan at Woking.

Marriott told the club site: “Obviously I’m delighted to have been offered a new contract.

"It’s what I’ve been aiming for, to win a new deal, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m really enjoying my time on loan at Woking and I’m scoring a few goals.

“It’s given me a boost in confidence. I feel I have improved as a player and with signing a new deal as well, things are going well for me. I’ve just got to keep working hard to make sure it stays that way.”

Could be good because he knows he has to produce straight away to get a new deal, could be bad because if he does do well, then we could have a player that all the big clubs want with only 6 months remaining on his contract. Hope we've added the chance to extend if we want to.

What's more pleasing from my point of view is that he is in the right position at the right time. He has pace,a pass, a trick and can finish...no brainier he will be in towns first team next season if not sooner. Let's just let him enjoy his time at Woking until the new year and see what happens from there. But I have a good feeling about this kid. Does anyone else think he is abit like Ross McCormack??
