Hunt Extends Town Stay Thursday, 19th Dec 2013 16:14 Midfielder Stephen Hunt has confirmed that he has extended his Town contract until the end of the season. The 32-year-old Irishman was previously on a short-term deal which was up in January. Hunt tweeted: “Well, that's me signed up till end of season. Delighted and looking forward to next six months of winning some games with a bit of luck!” Speaking to the club site, he added: “It goes without saying that I’m delighted to be staying at Ipswich Town. “When I first came here it was to get my foot in the door so to speak, to see how I got on with the club and how the club got on with me. “I think I’ve played okay and the manager has shown faith in me. Now I have to improve and show that I merit that longer deal. “I’m very happy to stay here as I feel really settled and hopefully we can crack on now and push for the top six.” The former Wolves, Reading, Hull and Brentford man revealed that he had been offered new terms by the Blues at the weekend. Meanwhile, Town held their Christmas dinner at their Playford Road training ground this lunchtime with the academy players singing for their Christmas bonuses from the senior pros.
