Rotherham Target Naylor?
Rotherham Target Naylor?
Thursday, 10th Jan 2002 22:50

TWTD understands that Town's Richard Naylor has been the subject of an approach from First Division Rotherham United. According to our sources the Millers wanted to buy the striker permanently but Town's valuation of £1 million was out of manager Ronnie Moore's price range. They then tried to take the 24-year-old striker on loan but Town and Naylor were only willing to discuss a permanent move.

Rotherham have admitted being after an out-of-favour Premiership striker who they revealed was born in Leeds, Naylor's home town. The Millers also understood that other clubs were interested in their target.

Naylor refused to sign a new contract with Town in October and has since been linked with several clubs including Palace, Watford, Wimbledon and Bradford. He recently disclosed that George Burley has said he'll consider any reasonable offer for him.

The man known as Bam Bam has made 69 starts for Town plus an astonishing 85 appearances as sub, surely a club record. He has scored 24 goals.
