Town Fans Win Champions League
Monday, 20th Jan 2014 00:08

Prior to Saturday’s game at Millwall, eight Town fans were in Soccer AM's Luther Blissett Stand.

Jordan Mitchell, Stephen Bailey, James Cochrane, Rhys Thompson, Sam Stannard, Scott Gidman, Sindre Eliassen and Scott Eade were those taking part and chose the ITFC anthem Edward Ebeneezer Jeremiah Brown to open the show.

"Rather disappointingly, Scott Eade seemed to forget the words and was ribbed by presenter Helen Chamberlain,"Stephen told TWTD. "However, the rest of the songs seemed to go fine.

"At the end, we had to take part in the car park game which consists of five holes representing League Two, League One, the Championship, the Premier League and the Champions League. We had one minute to see what we could 'win' by kicking a ball through each.

“Rhys Thompson got the ball rolling by 'winning' League Two with the first kick. I then secured League One and James Cochrane bagged the Championship and the Champions League, whilst Jordan Mitchell got the Premier League in between.

“Wild celebrations were sparked when James hit the Champions League with eight seconds to spare, which 'angered' Helen Chamberlain who had to repeatedly ask us to get out the way in order to carry on with the show.

“There was no prize apart from pride, only two other teams have managed to 'win' the Champions League. Ex-pro and Soccer AM guest Neil Mellor was thoroughly impressed with the Town supporters’ ability. It was great to get Town back where we belong, Europe!

“We all had a great morning and were pleased to represent our club on live national television. Must thank Simon Milton for providing the socks and shorts and to Jordan Mitchell for sorting it all.”

Great effort, just wish I had known about it prior to the show as I didn't catch it! Anybody know if you can watch it back online via sky go or whatever?

The best bits are normally on tonight and then on demand all week, Souperjim. Its only an hour so it wont all be included but if we got all the way through the carpark game that may well make the cut!

Well done lads!

the last time Town fans were on there they failed to score a goal in a similar thing, so pleased they did it this time! And those that didn't score were some of my mates, so I must get better friends!
