Green Targeting Play-Offs and New Deal Tuesday, 11th Feb 2014 16:58 New signing Paul Green says he hopes he can help the Blues into the play-offs and win a permanent deal during his 93-day loan at Portman Road. The 30-year-old Leeds midfielder completed his move on Saturday morning and made his debut as a sub that afternoon as Town drew 2-2 at Barnsley. Speaking in an interview with Ipswich Player, Green said: “The gaffer is renowned for getting clubs up, so it was a big thing for me that he wanted me here. “I know I’m not going to jump straight into the team here because the players have been doing well. I’ve got to bide my time and take my chance when it comes. I’m looking forward to my time here and hopefully I can help the club reach the play-offs.” The Ireland international is out of contract at Elland Road in the summer and doesn’t expect to be offered new terms: “I think it finished for me at Leeds. It’s a shame because I loved it there but that’s football. “The manager has said that there may be something here at the end of the season if I play well so it’s a possibility. We will have to see how things work out but it would be great if something could be done.” Meanwhile, on-loan Blues striker Jack Marriott is set to play the second game of his second loan spell with Woking this evening when the Cards travel to Salisbury in the Skrill Premier. The 19-year-old has scored 10 goals in 10 games during his two spells at the Kingfield Stadium. Freddie Veseli and Bury’s League Two game at Mansfield has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
