Pulis Not Surprised By Williams Speculation Monday, 16th Jun 2014 10:21 Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis says he’s not surprised that there is speculation regarding former Town loanee Jonny Williams’s future. The 20-year-old Wales international was recently linked with a £4 million move to Swansea City. “Jonny is a Crystal Palace player until deemed otherwise,” Pulis told the South London Press. “He’s one player that there is always going to be speculation about that he could be going - you are never going to take that out of the game. If people want to talk about it, then they will talk about it. “But Jonny comes back at the same time as the rest of the players. It is his responsibility to come back and do as well as he possibly can to get back in the team. He is a great lad and has got the potential - that is the word to use. He has got to fulfil that potential.” Town boss Mick McCarthy has said he would be interested in signing Williams on loan again next season if he were to become available but there seems only a very outside chance that he will return to Portman Road. In January, Williams, who scored one goal in 11 starts and two sub appearances during his time at Portman Road, extended his Palace contract until the summer of 2018. Meanwhile, another former Blues loanee, defender Richard Stearman, has signed a new two-year deal with Wolves. The 26-year-old’s existing contract was up this summer.
