Williams Expected to Be Fit For Forest Trip Friday, 3rd Oct 2014 14:20 Town boss Mick McCarthy says he expects loanee Jonny Williams to be fit to be involved at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, the 20-year-old having picked up a groin problem late on in the 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday. Ex-Forest man Paul Anderson has emerged as a doubt with a hamstring problem, but Luke Hyam will be OK despite suffering a few knocks at Hillsborough. McCarthy says Williams, who scored Town's equaliser against the Owls after coming off the bench to make his second Blues debut, should be fine: “He’s had treatment yesterday and today. I’ve just been speaking to him and he asked me if he can go straight to the Wales meet-up after the game, so he’s anticipating being fit. “He’ll be OK, Matt Byard the physio is happy with him and I think he’ll probably train tomorrow.” He added: “There’s no point in risking them and getting them injured, that really is counterproductive. If he’s OK he will be involved.” McCarthy says he’s not sure of the extent of Anderson’s problem: “Ando came off today, his hamstring tightened up. Whether that’s just a nerve that’s tightened up or any damage I’ve yet to find out, so we’ll see. “I’m hoping he’s fit because it’s his old club and they’ve a happy knack of scoring against their old club, don’t they?” Other than that he says he has no other injury problems: “Luke Hyam didn’t train today but will be OK, he just got a couple of hefty knocks, but nothing that’ll stop him playing.” McCarthy was pleased with Cameron Stewart’s performance in the U21s at Crewe on Wednesday and the winger is again likely to be involved with Mark Kennedy’s side when they take on Swansea in the U21 Premier League Cup at Portman Road (KO 7pm).
