Chelsea Monitoring Mings Thursday, 20th Nov 2014 09:42 Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has told his scouts to keep a close eye on Town’s £10 million-rated left-back Tyrone Mings, according to reports this morning.
The Mirror claims Mourinho sees Mings as a potential successor to John Terry, believing that the 21-year-old will ultimately prove to be a top level centre-half rather than continuing in the left-back role where he has made his name this season.
Elsewhere, it’s speculated that the Premier League leaders could make a move in January.
It’s not the first time Chelsea have been linked with Mings and they should know all about him with his father Adie working for them as a scout.
Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle, Manchester United, Sunderland and Burnley are amongst a host of Premier League clubs making regular visits to Portman Road to watch the former Chippenham Town defender in action.
Earlier in the week, Blues managing director Ian Milne told TWTD that Town are determined to keep hold of their star names in January.

If Wenger sees that Mourinho said he is potentially a John Terry replacement, Arsenal should come in and blow us completely out of the water with a bid, we should only do this with the agreement we keep Tyrone until the end of the season on loan, but this should only be done if we get something towards 15m

10mil would be a great return on the lad. Its hard for any champ club to turn that down. Parr is a LB and Hewitt is capable to fill in at RB if we need attacking full backs otherwise Chambo could fill in.

Another question, did Chippenham Town attach as sell on clause when the deal was done?

No to £10 Million. The way the lad is going he'll be worth £15 Million in the summer. Just think how much more he'd be worth if he was in the England u21 squad in the summer.

Bluemickey, Parr moves to left back and Hewitt takes right back, Hewitt was compared as a young right footed Gareth Bale not long ago and I don't think he has gotten worse since being here, just alittle forgotten at the moment, plus we still have chambers for right back if needed too!

Surco, yes that could happen but I thing TY has more about him and more potential then any of the back for at Leicester or Burnley. If we went up and stayed up we would get mega money, if we came down less so but I think Ty would have to get a serious injury or a severe loss of form to shake of the budgenoing rep, plus his story resinates, Like Lambert and the beetroot factory story so he's also v marketable add to that his likeable nature and you can see the shirts walking themselves out of any club shop For me if we are still looking this good in Jan lets keep him, if we dont go up he'll still be worth 10 million come summer, plus the reward for going up outweighs any fee we get. That said should MM/ME decide its better to take and spend the cash i'm cool with it as I trust Mick to spend well. He's neen sensational thus far, raw yes but learning at warp speed he's bigger than Shaw, he's more versitile than Shaw, fitter than Shaw. We'll never get Bertrand, i'd be supprised if he dosnt go to soton permanatly next year if not a bigger club

For me it would be ridiculous to let him go in January what ever the price, it makes no sense for us or Tyrone to do this - if we get promoted in May then we should look to keep him but if we don't then a BIG offer will probably be accepted in the summer. If it's one of the 'big 5' then we should take them for everything they have (so to speak).
