Bru Called Up
Tuesday, 10th Mar 2015 12:27

Town midfielder Kevin Bru has been named in the Mauritius squad for their friendlies with Burundi and Togo later this month.

The Mauritians face Burundi on Wednesday 25th March and the Togolese three days later. He'll join up with the squad following Town's game at Watford.

Paris-born Bru, who qualifies for Mauritius via his parents, has previously won two full caps having played for France at U18 and U19 levels.

It’s the first time he has been called up since he joined the Blues last summer following a trial.

The 26-year-old, who missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford due to a knee injury, recently signed a new contract running to the summer of 2018 with the club having an option for a further year.

Can't believe he hasn't been called up much before, he must be their best player by some distance?!

About time, Cant imagine they've got many better options in midfield.
Just for goodness sake don't get injured, offers something different in our midfield and personally one of my favourite players.Need you till the very end of the season!

Best of luck to him he deserves it. Although it will probably mean he will not be ready for the home match v Bournemouth

Only Town fans (well some of them) could find a negative about a guy being picked for his National football team.

Nothing personal, you understand, but Bru is just a run-of-the-mill midfielder, of which we have several these days, and would never have been considered good enough in the past. The fact that he is now confirms where we are as a club.

Obviously.
Bru, Skuse and Bishop are our best midfield three - though Ambrose when fit definitely deserves more of a run in.

GOOD AT COD - When you pay nothing for a player there are obviously low expectations BUT Bru has got some talent - Yes he was at Clairefontaine Acad in France as a youngster and he may have lost his ay since - But I think he adds alot in the middle when he plays
'Where we are as a club' Just outside the playoffs , in our own hands and ready for the last 10 games
Maybe you prefer the last 10 years ? Another Glass half empty guy me thinks
All about opinions though and we respect yours but disagree

Itfc1981 - moan moan friggin moan! I dont know why I look on here sometimes - guess I'm a town fan and can't resist but God we have a load of winging supporters.

Are you moaning about fans moaning Kirbers?

Cloddyseedbed added 17:33 - Mar 10
Kirbmeister presumably you expect our team to be in the playoffs. Surely having Bru available and fit for all league games to give us the greatest chance of achieving this has not been considered by you. International travel drains players and with the greatest respect we are no inundated with players of his class in midfield. Maybe Kidsurello and osborne should think why I made that comment also. Reaching the playoffs or Bru on International duty. In an ideal world both but the world ain't ideal.

I agree with Paulthealien - would love to see a back five with Mings and Parr at wing back, Skuse sitting deep and Bru and Bishop in front of him .
Really like Bru, talented and great engine. Call up well deserved.

Kirbmeister .............. do you see them complaining about YOU - as much as you do about THEM - NO you don't.

Entitled to their opinion - just as much as you are yours.

YOU never stop 'moaning' - about the so called 'moaners'. Ever thought of that.

....... now don't tell me you've never heard of Burundi and Togo ....... I just wouldn't believe you.

blueboy1981 - if you cant beat them join them! Bru should tell the National team coach he doesnt want to play for them and they were ridiculous to even think about it in the first place!

Kirbmeister I bet that's never happened before...
