Blues Amongst Clubs Linked With Pringle Thursday, 28th May 2015 11:47
Town are reported to be amongst a number of clubs interested in former Rotherham midfielder Ben Pringle.
The Blues and Championship rivals Fulham, Bolton and Leeds are all keen on the 26-year-old, according to the Sheffield Telegraph, while League One sides Wigan Athletic - who we now understand are leading the chase to sign Paul Anderson - and Sheffield United are linked elsewhere.
Out-of-contract Pringle recently turned down the offer of a new three-year deal with the Millers, who he joined in 2011 from Derby County.
Prior to his time with the Rams, Newcastle-born Pringle had been playing in non-league with Newcastle Blue Star, Morpeth Town and Ilkeston Town, having been with West Brom’s academy as a youngster. While with Derby he spent a spell on loan with Torquay.
Pringle, whose set pieces led to both Rotherham’s goals in their 2-0 victory over the Blues in February, made 154 starts and 14 sub appearances for the Millers, scoring 22 goals, and helped them to promotion from League Two as runners-up in 2012/13 and League One via the play-offs in 2013/14.

One thing I get annoyed with is being linked or lining up all and sundry hopes of a good signing hopes risen then as before it doesn't happen and the downer after is worse than a defeat. Really wish in footy nothing is said until its done prob mainly agents saying to the press they are interested or going to make a bid to try to improve chances in a move, I just wish if we are interested to go for him see what can be done or come out and say no we aint but all us fans get is speculation and no fact, I would say if something was going to happen it would have by now.
Anyone who went to Rotherham last season to see us will have seen that on that day he was very ,very good . Indeed the best player on the pitch ( that doesn't say much as the eleven in blue were awful haha)!!
Would be a good signing & a far better player than Anderson but Fulham are going to spend a lot I think. Does the FFP actually mean anything, I expect a lot of clubs to virtually ignore it.
I think they do ignore it as look derby are expected if reporting is accurate to bring in ince and bent now that has to be a massive investment with those two, Rotherham expected to buy this guy from Scotland for a 7 figure sum yeah might just be 1 mill but come on these clubs don't make the sort of money and sticking within ffp I think they are investing with the hope of promotion like also qpr spending big yeah they let folk go but they might if the rules are upheld which I doubt they will face millions in fines this cannot be allowed if we have to stick by the rules so should everyone not just told you wont be able to buy someone for a year they already done that they prob don't want to should be point decductions and massive fines
I can't say I have ever heard of him or claim to know anything about him. However, in terms of being competitive for wages, we are apparently in the top 6 highest in the Champ - hence the Cresswell fee, which some on here didn't think the club had used, has gone on securing better contracts for the likes of Berra, McG, Murphy, etc, etc..
This sounds good to me ... an experienced winger to improve things slightly immediately and then to help bring on Connolly O'Donnell and if they are ever going to show their talent Henshall and (flip - I've forgotten his name because he played well so often ... the guy who came on as a sub in the Southampton game)
Look be honest I hope im wrong but I think we have more chance of signing keith lemon the way we have our dealings done always at the end of the party be nice to bring in early giving mick all pre season to work getting us together
