Town Topic: What Changes Would You Make?
Wednesday, 14th Oct 2015 16:39

Town boss Mick McCarthy said he was thinking about “shaking the team up” after the defeat at Blackburn prior to the international break, but what changes would you make when the Blues take on Huddersfield at Portman Road on Saturday?

Post your team, using TWTD’s Team Selector, and thoughts in the comments section below.

I would remove the rose coloured spectacles from the manager when watching the performances of players that are clearly out of position and struggling.

Balanced back 4, pace and creativity out wide, magic from Didz, Skuse and Bru complement each other.

I'd have Glenn Hoddle picking the team

Start by changing the way we play and commence an attacking style of soccer that will get us out of the Championship after 14 years otherwise it will be bye-bye MM..

he may make one change and one enforced both in midfield MM is a dinosaur most all know that and he will never change i am afraid .

Bored with saying this but haven't had a proper right back since Wright so would definitely bring in Parr . Bart in goal as he is our best by a mile and the central midfield needs to be resolved so possibly Coke & Bru as more mobile and McGoldrick & Sears up front as they are not target men and might encourage rest of team to play football ! As we already know MM is as stubborn as the most stubborn donkey and will not listen to any of us . Better start winning on Saturday Mick !

I'd give a wake up call to some of our players who have become too comfortable!

We went on a good run last season with this sort of system, McGoldrick was central but drops off leaving space for the wide forwards to come in - Murphy last season scored lots of goals from here

any team without Gherkin in goal, Chambers at right back, no midfield dynamo pairing of Douglas and Skuse and definitely no Tabb and I will be as happy as I would be amazed.

These were my comments and team before the Blackburn game , views havent changed but would now swap Oar for Frazer due to injury or bishop if fit . Cannot see MM changing anybody but Frazer though even though no post on here has said stay with Gerkin in goal .

McCarthy: Blackburn Better Than Their League Position
at 12:36:23

“The wingers, Craig Conway and Ben Marshall. They murdered us for a period there last year, murdered us in the game. We set off well, but they really took the game to us."

That's because our full backs are not good enough and every one can see it bar you MM

“I've no complaints about the two lads who have been playing, I think they've been different class, Skusey and Dougie,”

Yes the same different class as Tabby , a class below top championship / premier players

Don't understand why a team leaking so many poor goals the second half of last season have only just managed to get some coaching on defending ? Why didn't we spend the whole of the summer trying to improve ? Because MM believes he defence and keeper are good enough to challenge at the top , IMO they are not .

Team for tomorrow
Bart
Parr, Chambo , Smith , Berra , Knudsen
AMN, Bru, Fraser
Didz
Sears
Lets keep the ball by having better quality players on the ball , would help the defence no end

Take Smith out of the firing line for a couple of weeks, restore Bart in goal, little tweak in the middle and off we go. Don't think we should be throwing the baby out with the bathwater, small changes are all that's needed.
