McCarthy Switches Entire XI at Portsmouth Tuesday, 19th Jan 2016 19:18 Town boss Mick McCarthy has named the anticipated entirely changed XI for this evening’s FA Cup third round replay at League Two Portsmouth.
Bartosz Bialkowski starts in goal with Josh Emmanuel at right-back, Myles Kenlock left-back and Piotr Malarczyk and Paul Digby the centre-halves, as they were in the first game between the sides at Portman Road, which ended 2-2 10 days ago.
In midfield, Luke Hyam skippers and is joined in the centre by Jay Tabb with Ainsley Maitland-Niles on the right and Tommy Oar on the left. Up front, former Pompey striker Luke Varney is partnered by Brett Pitman.
The bench features Joe Robinson, Kyle Hammond and Shane McLoughlin, who are yet to make a first-team appearance and Adam McDonnell, whose only senior game for the Blues came in the Capital One Cup at Doncaster.
Portsmouth name both ex-Town players, keeper Brian Murphy and winger Gary Roberts, in a team featuring three changes from the side which lined up at Portman Road with skipper Michael Doyle, Gareth Evans and Christian Burgess replacing Danny Hollands, Ben Close and Adam McGurk.
Portsmouth: Murphy, Davies, Webster, Burgess, Stevens, Barton, Doyle (c), Evans, Roberts, Bennett, McNulty. Subs: Bass, May, Close, Tollitt, Naismith, McGurk, Chaplin.
Town: Bialkowski, Emmanuel, Digby, Malarczyk, Kenlock, Hyam (c), Tabb, Maitland-Niles, Oar, Varney, Pitman. Subs: Gerken, Robinson, Hammond, Coke, McDonnell, Touré, McLoughlin. Referee: Andy Woolmer (Northamptonshire).

I don't understand why MM has not put out a side that could beat a League 2 team ! It really does beggar belief! There is also the extra money that is available when you have a decent cup run . Leaving out the nucleus of a team would never have happened in the past and I struggle with the mentality of this decision ! Here's hoping for a miracle in the second half..I fear that this won't happen though 😡😡

Can TWTD run a poll called "do you think the supporters who went to Pompey should get their money back?" Then present the results to the board. Mick has showed utter disrespect for the club and competition by fielding that team of dross. Punching above our weight in the league maybe but he does not understand The club and has no long term future at ITFC in my opinion.

What McCarthy thinks bot won't have the courage to say "I don't care a flying one for the F A Cup or the town supporters so get use to it".

We won't get promotion, we will probably make play offs and lose in the semis, that way its bad luck mm try again next season.... Who can blame him, if he did get us promoted we d get spanked every week and he'd get the push by Xmas. Still cant explain this awful FA cup attitude though....
