Blackburn Game Set for Switch Saturday, 30th Jan 2016 17:17 Town’s home game against Blackburn Rovers scheduled for Saturday 20th February will be rearranged with the Lancastrians progressing to round five of the FA Cup after winning 3-0 at Oxford United this afternoon.
Fifth round ties are set to be played that weekend and Rovers' visit to Suffolk will move to a Tuesday evening, although not in the following week as Hull City are already at Portman Road.
Elsewhere, Blues boss Mick McCarthy was at the Madejski Stadium to watch Tuesday’s opponents Reading beat Walsall 4-0, having made only two changes from their last Championship game, to seal their place in round five. Tuesday's game was moved from today due to the Royals' involvement in the FA Cup.
Town will be out to extend their remarkable record of Tuesday night home victories to 16 when they take on Reading and then increase their total even further when they eventually face Blackburn.
The Blues' next Saturday home game - one of only four more this season - is now Nottingham Forest's visit on March 5th.
Meanwhile, in the Championship, in which there were only three games today, the Blues remain eighth but with Birmingham (47 points) having moved up to sixth ahead of Sheffield Wednesday (46) after drawing 0-0 at Bristol City.
The Owls, who lost 3-2 at Shrewsbury in the FA Cup this afternoon with the winning goal coming deep into injury time, are in action at home to third-placed Burnley (51) on Tuesday.
Ninth-placed Cardiff City (44) are now only a point behind the Blues (45) having won 3-2 away at Huddersfield Town.

I'm not a 'McCarthy out' advocate by any means, but it still hurts that we limped out so tamely from th F A Cup at McCarthy's behest - such an insult to the Competition, the Club and the Fans. I will not tolerate such an insult next Season.

TractorGirl77, I understand your sentiments. I know of several former Season Ticket holders who did not renew three years ago because they felt the Club was taking their loyalty for granted. MM - always play your best Team. If not, bear the consequences. And as for the selling of Rhodes, although I am not a vindictive person at all, I don't think I'll ever forgive Clegg or Keen for selling Rhodes.

I too will have to think about renewing my two season tickets, I find it very hard to make midweek games and my son can't outside of school holidays. This will make me reconsider the economics of having a season ticket. My fear will be without having a season ticket and with the dire style of football this team offers I will find myself going less and less.

Why should I renew my season ticket? 1, Lack of ambition. 2. No interest in 2out of the 3 competitions entered. 3.No thought for supporters in the above approach. 4.500 mile round trip to home matches plus food costing around £75 for each home game, ignoring the cost of the Season Ticket. 5.Additional cost of overnight stay for mid week games. 6. FFP which seems to apply only to ITFC (Could it be an excuse to hide behind connected to (1) above.

It's not the clubs fault that the game had to be switched from a Saturday to a Tuesday I can't believe people are considering not renewing there season ticket because of it!?!?! Some people i just don't get at times. I understand it's more difficult coming to mid week home games if you have to travel a fair distance to get here but you can't blame ITFC for the rescheduled game it's not their fault, surely as a fan of football you would know the risk of games being rescheduled? Lord forbid if we get snow and a game is called off as that would probably be the clubs fault to

It is not the switch to a Tuesday night that causes me to question my sanity if I renew my season ticket. This is merely the straw that breaks the camels back and all the additional expense involved. It is the lack of ambition by the club, failure to invest, failure to treat cup competitions (and therefore supporters) with the respect they deserve and hiding behind FFP as an excuse when others just ignore it. After 55 years of supporting ITFC, many of those from a considerable distance, the time has come to pay my money to Sky TV rather than ITFC and watch my football from my armchair at home. Money is the root of all evil and is to blame for the lack of respect given to the cup competitions by many teams. We need a return to the days when there is a hefty fine for playing an understrength team to give the cup competitions some credibility. Where is the honour in winning a competition by beating a string of under 21 teams?
