Friends of Town fan Wayne Double, who sadly passed away this summer, will be holding a minute’s applause in the 42nd minute of Saturday’s opening fixture at home to Barnsley as a tribute.

Wayne was a long-standing season ticket holder from Clacton and died two days after celebrating his 42nd birthday, hence the timing of the applause.

Wayne’s friends, who sit in Area 4, Row K of the Sir Bobby Robson Stand lower tier, are asking fans elsewhere in the stadium to join them in remembering a fellow supporter.

If you don't want to applaud come and stand in front of the lower Sir Bobby stand, and just cross your arms. I would love to meet you face to face.

Remember that amazing moment a season or two ago when the fans joined in for a minutes applause in memory of another fellow fan taken too soon and Murph smashed one in just as it was coming to an end. What a moment! lets hope that can happen again.
