Bishop and Douglas Start at Wolves
Tuesday, 16th Aug 2016 18:56

Town boss Mick McCarthy has made two changes to the team which lost 2-0 at Brentford for this evening’s game against his old club Wolves at Molineux with Teddy Bishop and Jonathan Douglas coming into the side for Kevin Bru, who drops to the bench, and the injured Conor Grant.

The Blues look set to line-up in a 4-3-3 formation with Freddie Sears and Grant Ward either side of Daryl Murphy up front, while Bishop is likely to start ahead of Cole Skuse and Douglas in midfield.

Luke Varney is on the bench for the first time since rejoining the club for a third spell.

Town: Bialkowski, Chambers (c), Webster, Berra, Knudsen, Skuse, Douglas, Bishop, Ward, Sears, Murphy. Subs: Gerken, Smith, Emmanuel, Kenlock, Dozzell, Bru, Varney.

Wolves: Ikeme, Iorfa, Batth (c), Hause, Doherty, Coady, Edwards, Evans, Mason, Bodvarsson, Teixeira. Subs: Lonergan, Henry, Saville, Wallace, Costa, Price, Deslandes. Referee: Peter Bankes (Liverpool).

Well, we had to change something after Saturday's performance even though none of us think Douglas is really the answer. We badly need Bishop to have a good game, that could be key if we are to get anything from tonight. COYB!

Looking to play for either a 0-0 or nick a 1-0. Personally don't rate Douglas, but let's hope he has a rare good game.

why not try Digby in midfield that's where he was playing. Also with the players we have its crying out for 3 5 2 Kenlock and Emanuel as wing backs gives them game time without being exposed.

Same shambolic defence full of favourites. Douglas and Skuse - joke. Less than a 3 nil loss will be amazing. Glad I did not go with this team selection.

Douglas and skuse in the midfield says it all. Setting up for a draw to try and nick a win. Same poor defence with micks favourites included once again. Hope I'm wrong but can only see a loss tonight.

Where do I start....?

Still a CB at RB.
A defense that is leaking goals alarmingly kept the same. What has poor old Smith done to be left in the cold?
Two defensive midfielders AGAIN (thought it was evident it didn't work last season?!)
Douglas?! Just needs to driven to the middle of nowhere and left there.
A CM playing on the right?

I know we're a bit thin on the ground but that is no excuse. Play Emmanuel and Kenlock - get them experience (seeing as we can't do that in the cups anymore thanks to Mick!) and I feel they're probably as good, if not better, than Chambers and Knudsen. Stick Bishop in the centre and play Dozzell. And sign another bloody striker!!

Oh and if Mick would leave, that'd be great.

Terrible Skuse and Douglas have proven many times it does not work!! What's happened to the young guns 4 injuries and all we see is bishop, what's wrong with dozzel, mcdonnell and benyu

I'm fed up with Mick and I'm gonna give him to the Norwich game. If we lose tonight and to Norwich on Sunday, he MUST go!!

Steve Bruce is available!?

Again dinosaur

Same shocking full backs. Same defence leaking goals against awful opponents. Skuse & Douglas so basically 6 at the back and hoof it. You're an idiot McCarthy.

Miracle required.

There's always hope. Need it as we won't win with ability. 11/10 wolves at home to that team selection. Superb price.

Give MM a month and he'll be gone. He hasn't addressed the Full back issue and is again playing Skuse and Douglas together which has never worked. Thankfully im not going. Good luck tonight hope you surprise us

The two words that gives every town fan nightmares...Douglas Starts

Chambers in wrong position, two young fullbacks chomping at the bit...not playing, Knudsen and Douglas both playing, hoofball formation. Clearly this manager is not for turning and he will go about it in his stubborn and one dimensional way so clearly no hope. Goodnight ..and someone turn out the light please...
