Malarczyk's Contract Terminated
Sunday, 28th Aug 2016 11:05

Town have confirmed that Polish central defender Piotr Malarczyk has left the club having had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

Malarczyk joined the Blues a year ago today from his hometown club Korona Kielce, where he was skipper, Town triggering a release clause in his contract which allowed him to move on if a foreign side made an offer of 50,000 zloty (around £8,500).

The 25-year-old made only three cup starts - including the FA Cup replay at Portsmouth in which he was red-carded - and three Championship sub appearances, all last season, and joined Southend on loan for the final weeks of the campaign having been made available for transfer.

Great news. Mrs Linhdi bought his shirt on the ITFC auction site. The very shirt that he wore away to Pompey, when h was double-yellow carded. And his last-ever appearance in a competitive game.

It's a pity Piotr didn't work out. Take a punt, don't always work.

Needed to free up his wages to combine with Murphy's plus the £3 million ready to pay for our mega money super star signing in the next few days! Good times!!!

Must be having a Sunday lay in and still dreaming but we can hope I suppose. Hopefully some players in soon.

Pity. Thought this might work out. (Was he really given much of a chance?) Feel sorry for the guy, but hope he finds another club to take his career forward.

At this rate we won't have a team left

McCarthy's punts didn't work out that well last season...Toure, Coke and Piotr (not that he was really given a chance). All the best for the future mate.

I don't think he was ever really given a chance here. Good luck Piotr in the future

It's the world in which we operate. Discover potential diamonds rather than splashing the cash. For every Mings there will be 4 or 5 Malarczyk's. You need to speculate though and many of them won't work out but hopefully there will be more Walters's Holland's And Cresswell's than Le apen's and Serini's

very true. Just looking forward to seeing who we bring in. How players do people think we will get in?

I'm thinking 3.

Striker
Palace winger
Defender

Arnie M: I think we'll get two strikers and that'll be it. Best plus some youngster. I stop reading in here when people complain about needing a RB. I completely agree, but it's obvious that MM just sees It differently to 99% of fans. Chambers is his RB and will be as long as MM is manager.

How many times have we cancelled contracts in recent years? Seems to be a regular occurrence with McCarthy punts. How's about we sign proper players who are going into the team to stay and improve it? We have a number of decent youngsters of our own who also should be given a chance.

Unlucky for Polish Pete, more likely to thrive than Coke... Too many risky signings, but Coke was never going to workout... Think even me and a few posters on here would make better scouts

Very poor player unfortunately. Regrettably most of our cheap buys last season didn't work out.

Mcgoldrick and Berra next. You can't win anything with youngsters. How about Bullard

Show some real ambition and go for Rhodes or Nugent on season long loan with Murphy money
