Town Among Clubs Linked With Scunthorpe Winger Monday, 23rd Jan 2017 12:34 Town, Bristol City and Rotherham are reported to be eyeing Scunthorpe midfielder Josh Morris.
According to HITC Sport, the trio of Championship clubs are all considering making a move for the 25-year-old three-times capped former England U20 international.
Left winger Morris has scored 18 goals - all but one in the league - in 30 starts and three sub appearances so far this season and is the second highest scorer in League One.
Morris, who is 5ft 11in tall, started his career with Blackburn and had spells out on loan with Yeovil, Rotherham, Carlisle and Fleetwood while with the Ewood Park club.
The Preston-born wideman, who can also play at full-back or in central midfield, joined Bradford on a permanent basis in July 2015 before moving on to the Iron, who are currently second in League One, last summer.
Morris was named the League One Player of the Month in August and September.

At the risk of sounding negative, Scunthorpe are riding high in L1 and I doubt if they will sell unless the bid is too good to turn down. Would he want to come here? A definite step up but If he scores more in L1 then at the end of the season more clubs may well become interested in him.

This would be an excellent signing.

If it's more than 10000 we can't afford it so it seems or is it just that Evans has given up completely????

are we going to ditch then 3-5-2 now, then? I'm happy if we sign anyone new, but I'd prefer a midfield playmaker... a glaring absence since bishop started getting injured

Spanish-blue ...sadly I. Think you will find that the 4 £1m bids are only live until we get one,..then no more...can't be transplanted into 2x£2m ....Evans isn't a multimillionaire for nothing!!

Your choice is this Josh......(a) stay with a club who will probably get promoted, earn yourself a new deal next season in a higher league after being selected in the Div. 1 side of the year or (b) Go to one of three teams who will probably end up fighting for their lives in the League above and who may well lose that fight.

Like most people on here I can only go on the stats and he looks a good player based on that. The type we should be signing - you, hungry and want to go places. I would hope we will go for him but I doubt it. Perhaps that is me letting my negativity get the best of me..

Have been linked with several players in this window as always;usually in Jan however mostly end up with what we have so far ie 1 for £10k,2 unattached & 3Loanee. Will we be pleasantly surprised with 8 days left?

This would be a good signing and a signal of content. But, will Evans do this or indeed any other deal unless it's free, a loan or around ten grand?

It sounds like he particularly ticks the box

If he's any good - and therefore will cost something - FORGET IT. Our Club is a complete SHAMBLES whichever way you look at it - AND SINKING FAST.

Would be a great signing IMO, coming into his prime, and dropping down to play regular football in a settled system has allowed him to push on. Has scored a couple of crackers this season too.

Let us all have a go at Kieron Dyer now for talking common sense.

We have as much chance of him coming here as Portman Road being struck by a meteorite. For a start he wont be free and he will expect to be paid more than the minimum wage

Sure'y a deal of this nature should be agreed with both the club and the player in principal in December and then completed on he first day of the transfer window. If it is true then being part of a bidding war with eight days to go is just awful transfer policy. MMcC says January is a bad month to do business - I would agree because all business should be done before then and like I say confirmed when the window opens...

This lad has pure goals in him!!!! 18 in 30 is phenomenal! Reckon he'd cost £2+, which we probably wouldn't pay... Exciting story. Jesus, I just got a flashback to the last transfer window deadline when we sold Murphy and all sat up excited as to what striker we'd sign, then we signed no one. Ouch.
