Friday, 2nd Jun 2017 08:34

McGoldrick, who is still looking for his first international goal, started up front alongside his former Town strike partner Daryl Murphy in what was an experimental side. Ex-Blues youngster Conor Hourihane was also in the team.

Ireland play another friendly against Uruguay in Dublin on Sunday when a number of senior players, including former Town skipper Jon Walters will join up with the squad, with the games preparation for the World Cup qualifier against Austria on Sunday 11th June, also in Dublin.

Republic of Ireland: Randolph, Christie (Browne 73), Keogh, Duffy, Egan (Long 64), McClean, Horgan (Gleeson 73), Hourihane (O’Kane 64), O’Dowda, Murphy (Hoolahan 64), McGoldrick.

Some game time, no injury. One of our few internationals so I wonder what Evans would get for him if he was sold ? There's not much of the family silver left to flog.

Actually Evans showed a lot of ambition turning down £7m for him. With hindsight, given McGoldrick's injuries it would have been good business.
