Blend of Youth and Experience Starts at Colchester Tuesday, 25th Jul 2017 18:46 Blues boss Mick McCarthy has named a starting line-up which is a mix of youth and experience for this evening’s friendly at Colchester United (KO 7.30pm). As announced on Saturday, Dominic Iorfa and Adam Webster will line-up at the centre of the defence and David McGoldrick up front. Adam McDonnell, Tristan Nydam, Danny Rowe and Conor McKendry make up an inexperienced midfield, while George Fowler is at right-back and Ben Morris up front. Dean Gerken is in goal while the bench includes young defender Pat Webber, who was with Aldershot until the weekend hoping to win a loan move to the Vanarama National League side, as well as the senior players who started at Gillingham on Saturday. Cole Skuse, who was expected to return to the squad having been unwell, is again absent, as are Tom Adeyemi (also ill), Emyr Huws (calf), Teddy Bishop (groin), Andre Dozzell (hip) and Luke Hyam (ankle). The Colchester startling XI includes ex-Blues defender Tom Eastman and Drey Wright, the son of former Town midfielder Jermaine.
