Hyam Makes Return for U23s
Monday, 14th Aug 2017 12:04

Midfielder Luke Hyam will make his return to action for the U23s in this afternoon’s game against Crewe Alexandra at Playford Road (KO 1pm).

Hyam suffered a knee injury in pre-season ahead of the 2016/17 campaign and then having made his recovery and featured for the U23s injured an ankle in training in March, which ended his season before it had even started.

The 25-year-old wasn’t involved in pre-season at all this summer due to a further knee problem but recently returned to full training.

Also in the side facing the Alex this afternoon will be Conor McKendry, Monty Patterson, Ben Folami and Pat Webber.

We need Hyam to be fit and in the team with all the injuries to mid-fielders we have at the moment.

Hopefully a couple of games with the Under23s will help with him getting back to regular games in the 1st team.

I can't believe he is 25 now. We have hardly seen him for the last 2 years.

I hope I'm wrong and he may just be unlucky but knee and ankle problems persist and dog a players career, I wish the lad all the best, he's had a horrible couple of years and deserves better.

Wouldn't fancy facing a team with hyam, garner and waghorn. Would have shinpads up to my neck!!

Big year for Hyam. I think he could be very well suited to the 5-3-2 system we have employed of late.
