Town Accept Peterborough Bid for Moore
Wednesday, 3rd Jan 2018 10:14

Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry has revealed that Town have accepted a Posh offer for striker Kieffer Moore, but that a deal is not yet a fait accompli.

“We have had a bid for Kieffer Moore accepted by Ipswich,” Fry told Peterborough Today. “But there are a lot of add-ons attached which our chairman might not fancy.

“We believe Moore playing alongside Jack Marriott with Marcus Maddison supplying the crosses would be formidable in League One.

“Moore has done well for Rotherham this season and obviously they also want him so we will have to wait and see.”

It’s speculated that the initial fee is £250,000, although that would appear unlikely as it’s understood Rotherham have offered a figure which would eclipse their record fee of £500,000, coincidentally paid to Posh for midfielder Jon Taylor in August 2016.

Moore, 25, who was recalled from his loan spell at Rotherham at the start of the month, is also interesting a number of other League One clubs, including Charlton, Scunthorpe, Bradford and Wigan.

Speaking last night, manager Mick McCarthy wouldn't comment on developments regarding Moore - "I can’t tell you anything" - but he confirmed that if the striker features for Town he can’t play for anyone else other than the Millers this season due to FIFA’s three-club rule.

“That’s correct, or stay with us,” he said. “He can’t play in the cup anyway. That gives us a bit of thinking room, I guess.”

PhilTWTD, Are you sure KM hasn't played for us? He came on as a sub didn't he? I'm sure I've seen him play at PR - looked well out of his depth at the time too

Have to say the over reaction to the potential sale of a non 1st team playey who mostbof us didnt rate in the first place for a healthy profit is staggering.

Maybe Paul Warne now regrets being so open about discussing our transfer business... Could be that we haven't taken too kindly to it and have not done business with them on principle

So MM doesn't (or didn't) want any of the current top three Division One goalscorers? Is that because they don't suit MM's style (for the want of another word) of play? Sears looked good when he arrived, but played out of position he now looks awful.

Some of us remember when a gangling lad called Ted Phillips started with ITFC in the old Third Division South back in the 50s. He didn't look much good then and I suspect if MM was Manager then he would have got rid of him......but remember what Sir Alf turned Phillips into! Along with a few other Third Division South players.

My point is that the gap between many Championship players and those in the current First Division is not that great. It's so much more about management. (Look how Crystal Palace have been turned round!) MM is from a different era, orchestrating a brand of football that is neither entertaining nor effective. Our club is going nowhere until he's ditched.

and you go to all of them Swn98, how else could Mick keep his shoes shiny . Suppose with your superior knowledge and five star support you even sit in the dug out.Not everyone is happy with Moore moving on, the fact that you are dosnt surprise me , People will get p###ed off with the club when on top of everything else Milne says no interest in selling ,then few days later it appears that's not the case .Same attitude as Evans and McCarthy.

dirtymingus.
So brave and noble of you to hide behind your keyboard and stoop to slagging off people that bother to get out and support the team you claim to support.
Grow up.

Gcon , what do you know about anyone on here ,or that they go to matches or not , you can spout off as much as you like about going to matches , for all we know and in all probability you don't go to half the matches you claim to so wind your neck in, and get on with your homework theres a good boy .

Might have already been said but how can we have accepted an offer and then Peterborough have suggested there maybe add ins which they won't like...surely the offer includes all these things....so we don't have a full offer to accept
....we like doing things in such a simplistic way at Ipswich don't we

Whoever thought our Club would ever become the pathetic joke it has ? - no way back from this black hole.

Currently a squad of 14 players, and still selling, and or loaning players out.

You couldn't make it up - we're 'doomed my dear Watson' - and this part of it all IS no joke .......!!!

Sensible Season Ticket holders who renewed must surely feel they have been severely mugged - thankfully they didn't catch me this time. I sure am pleased about that.

Lets flog him to Posh & recoup some of that rip-off fee that we paid for Paul Taylor. We owe Fry a lemon.

...... so, so disappointed with everything about Ipswich Town Football Club right now - after supporting physically home and away, and significantly financially for over 50 years - my feeling now is I just don't want to know anything more about it all.

There just has to be others who feel likewise. Awful situation for a once proud Club.

This is just typical we are on a downward spiral not scoring enough to compensate for what can only be descibed as a bloody hopless back four and we sell a guy that would give us a new threat going forward and can also help out the useless four has beens at the back season over 16 to 19 is prediction for our finishing spot this season and still have the six fingered freaks to play in Feb God help us but only if he can play centre back !!!
