Town Among Clubs Linked With Pilkington
Saturday, 6th Jan 2018 21:03
Town are among a number of clubs claimed to be keen on out-of-favour Cardiff winger Anthony Pilkington.
According to HITC Sport, the Blues, Barnsley and Bolton Wanderers are all eyeing the 29-year-old Irish international, who it’s said Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock is looking to offload.
The former Norwich, Huddersfield and Stockport man, who is contracted until the summer of 2019, has made only two starts this season, one in the Championship and one in the Carabao Cup, in which he has also come off the bench once.
Although the Blues are looking for recruits in midfield during January, it’s central players to come in for those currently out injured who are required rather than wide players.

Perfect type of signing to help with our play off push......

Swap deal for Didz I Reckon. Not a bad player to be fair, can play wide or up front.

A decent CB is more important I’m afraid!

Nope. We don't need another winger.

Does anyone actually care? The owner is off loading players. Then wanting loans frees and other clubs rejects. Shameful.

Why would anyone want to come to us anyway? Mid table mediocrity probably crap money 'in footballers terms' a dinosaur in charge probably for the next 2 years as HE seems to pull our chairman's strings. Yes we're all pi**ed of with the rumours of players leaving but be honest who can blame them. We all say when someone deemed not good enough that Mick the pr*ck see's them in training so he knows best. Works both ways the players also see in training what he's like so maybe they think he's not good enough so they want out.

His got my vote for player of the season already

Warnock seems to know what he's doing, he off loaded Huws too!
blue75 added 21:52 - Jan 6
Did we not just send Rowe out on loan isn’t he a winger? All these unhappy players moving out has McCarthy started to lose the dressing apart from his proper blokes?
vanmunt added 22:05 - Jan 6
Karl Pilkington would be more likely
lightingblue added 22:23 - Jan 6
Anyway I thought Pilkington was a supplier of glass and glazing products

Another cast off. What a suprise.......can he shoot?
Tractamatt added 22:48 - Jan 6
Rather have Warnock and offload our real problem
algarvefan added 22:49 - Jan 6
Oh the day just gets better and better!!!!
bluearmy78 added 22:50 - Jan 6
Jesus, somebody shoot me now!!
OwainG1992 added 22:59 - Jan 6
But he's a winger? Mick won't pick him. So we gonna sell didz Smith Bart Moore and bring 4 lads in on loan? Wouldn't surprise me
shakytown added 23:23 - Jan 6
Why oh why would we want a winger when our midfield (with or without injuries) is well below par and our defence is like a sieve. That is the real problem we are not addressing the weaknesses in the squad and are relying on cast offs instead of building a TEAM. This will not change as long as Mick remains our manager.

Not McCarthy's type of player.....Pilkington get away whilst you can, unless you want to hear the following, back track, back track! Half way line and no further , Chambers needs covering! Etc etc!
Kulturarv added 23:35 - Jan 6
Marcus Scrooge OUT!
midastouch added 00:51 - Jan 7
Would much prefer Danny Rowe be given a proper chance rather than this cast off!
guentchev added 04:40 - Jan 7
What message would this send to Rowe, McDonnell, Drinan, Pattersen?
ArnieM added 08:14 - Jan 7
Who cares anymore ............?
