Waghorn, Skuse, Connolly and Webster Return at Bristol City
Saturday, 17th Mar 2018 14:17

Martyn Waghorn, Cole Skuse, Callum Connolly and Adam Webster return to the Town side facing Bristol City at Ashton Gate this afternoon.

The Blues look set to return to their back three system with Webster on the left of skipper Luke Chambers and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Jordan Spence and Jonas Knudsen are the wing-backs, while Skuse, facing his hometown club where he started his career, and Connolly are in central midfield. Grant Ward and Freddie Sears are set to line-up either side of central striker Waghorn.

Bristol City make one change, central defender Nathan Baker misses out with a groin injury and Hordur Magnusson comes into the team.

Bristol City: Fielding, Pisano, Wright (c), Magnusson, Kelly, Brownhill, Pack, Smith, Paterson, Diédhiou, Reid. Subs: Wollacott, Hegeler, O'Neil, Kent, Walsh, Djuric, Diony.

Town: Bialkowski, Carter-Vickers, Chambers (c), Webster, Spence, Skuse, Connolly, Ward, Knudsen, Sears, Waghorn. Subs: M Crowe, Celina, Hyam, Gleeson, Drinan, Kenlock, Morris. Referee: Darren England (South Yorkshire).

A better looking team more suitable to an away fixture. A team packed with the graft with little craft, bet Mick's foaming at the mouth with the proper blokes all in.

Poldark - down marking our Martin when he's attending the game??? Shame on you!

Celina can create something out of nothing and takesa mean free kick. He has flair, skill and vision. In the world of MM, not required...

Glad to see Webster back but I think it does prove that we cannot now play 4-4-2 as Spence, CCV, Chambers and Knudsen are not up to it.
Back to a back 5 with 2 holders. I cannot see Mick straying from that for the rest of the season apart from bringing in 3 holders.
As long as Sears is player up top with Waghorn then that is progress, but I doubt it.
He will be up top by himself with Waghorn as a No.10 or played out wide covering Knudsen

Sears in front of Celina. Would any other manager in the league even contemplate that decision.

Link the formation with mick feeling adventurous enough to only play 2 holding midfeilder
But Sears really?
Imagine Celina and Carayol either side of Waghorn if Caryol was fit.

Listening on the radio realising that I really couldn't give a....

Feel free to use your own word in the brackets (.........)
what the team or score is.

Completely irrelevant and meaningless

Sorry, Sears is a great player with great effort, he is in and out of the team, in the wrong position, in a team with poor moral, poor vision and poor motivation. He would thrive in the right team. Wrong person being targeted

Not sure agree Alex;did you see him bang in front of goal, just out side penalty area and chose to pass rather than shoot
