Trying to fill the stadium, think carefully there's more chances of losing the next generation of fans watching that rubbish,

I'm assuming the NSPCC are sponsoring this game then.

Get kids in fora £1, your having a laugh. There's been several home games that I've not been able to attend so I've asked family and friends if they would like to use my season ticket the answer - no thanks, can't even give it away.

To be fair to the club at least they are trying to do something, that's the only thing that would make me consider coming back to watch another game this season, mainly because my lad loves Ipswich (he's only 8) and I might take but I wish they'd of picked a different game as I don't fancy our chances much against Villa. And the games we've come this season have been poor, he's not seen a winning match since we beat Barnsley 4-2! He's desperate to see us win. I was thinking of taking him to see Burton Albion this season thinking we'd prob win that but I decided that week not to bother as thought we might blow it and I was unfortunately proven right but at least I saved all the bother and pain. You know your team is badly on the slide when you can't even cherry pick one single fixture all season where you are confident we will win! He's been saying to me for a while that we never win when we go and that's sad as he needs something to motivate him. He gets a lot of flack wearing his Ipswich goalkeeper tops (he has both the blue and black tops, and the home kit, all with name and numbers on the back) as most of his friends here support Norwich. So it would be nice for Ipswich to pay him back with a win once in a blue moon! He deserves at least that for sticking with them!

At least it is a positive step to try to increase the crowd. Lets hope we put up a decent show to encourage people for next season - hopefully with a new manager.

Get a promising new manager in during the international break and, together with this promotion, I expect you would see a (genuine) gate of over 20,000.

Alternatively, you could just leave Mick in place and then any potential new young fans that do show up will be so utterly bored and unimpressed with their experience that they will NEVER return again.

'although all under-13s will have to be accompanied by a paying adult'

The club should have been doing this from the start of the season.

Unfortunately your post of not being able to give your tickets away, isn't the 1st example of this happening.

I have read several pieces about this happening on twtd and a friend of mine and his son offered their tickets to over ten of us.

Indeed, it comes to something when you can't give it away for free!

Haven't we got enough “kids” abusing the players already?? Yes mick should be partly blamed along with the owner but not supporting the team appears to be a step to far ! !

£1? That's a bit steep. Took my boy to watch a nil nil, no shots on goal, absolute bore draw game of the poorest quality a couple of years ago. For some reason he hasn't ever wanted to go since......no idea why......he says that that he really likes to watch paint dry, but I'm not sure whether to believe him or not.

Sadly this is the sort of promo I would have taken advantage of as predominantly armchair fan that has 2 girls that I'm desperately trying to keep interested in ITFC. But when I can't bring myself to go at the moment with the football being served up by the club how can I put my kids through it. Not angry like the more die hard fans on here just utterly despondent. Football used to be a big part of my life but difficult to feel passionate about a club who don't appear to care.

Looks like I'm too late to make the "that's steep" and childline jokes.
They should let people in for free and charge them more the earlier they leave.
