Knudsen Hoping to Win First Denmark Cap as Town Player
Thursday, 22nd Mar 2018 11:47

Left-back Jonas Knudsen will be hoping to win his third full cap and his first since joining Town when Denmark take on Panama in a friendly at the Brøndby Stadion this evening.

Knudsen, 25, has been unable to add to the two caps won while with Esbjerg fB since moving to the Blues in the summer of 2015.

He was a late call into the squad for their World Cup qualification play-off with the Republic of Ireland in November - which the Danes won 5-1 on aggregate - and will hope to impress manager Ã…ge Hareide enough to win a place in the squad which travels to the World Cup in Russia in the summer.

Following tonight’s match, Denmark face Chile at Aalborg Portland Park on Tuesday evening.

Good luck Jonas. Must make him and his family (and friends) proud to see him represent his country. If he plays like he does against Norwich then he'll soon become a regular international! ;-)
I know Jonas has got his detractors (I have been at times) but I think he's improving and let's be honest, he must be doing something right for Denmark to think he's worth considering for the World Cup. Not many of us will ever be lucky enough to represent our country in any field or pursuit whatsoever so he deserves credit. Would be nice to see a Town player actually play in a match or two at the World Cup. I'm not sure we will but hopefully we might.

I just wish when he takes the ball to the halfway line, he wouldn't then turn round and pass it back to the CB . He does almost every time with fail! What's the bloody point of that ? At least Kenlock actually attack's the opposition box and puts in a decent cross. Sorry Knudsen doesn't impress me that much.

Åge Hareide is a very good manager. Has has success in several places in Scandinavia, including Malmö in Sweden. I'd trust him to know what he's doing.

He is one of the proper blokes. Ranking him amongst his successors certainly would make the top 100. Very average
