Dozzell in Squad Travelling to Braintree
Friday, 13th Jul 2018 15:12

Midfielder Andre Dozzell has been named in the Blues squad for Saturday’s friendly against Vanarama National League Braintree Town at the Ironmongery Direct Stadium (KO 3pm).

The 19-year-old played the first half of last week’s 1-0 behind-closed-doors defeat of Kilmarnock at La Manga but tomorrow’s match will be his first on UK soil since he suffered a torn cruciate knee ligament against Birmingham on the opening day of last season, an injury which ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.

Manager Paul Hurst is taking his first-team squad to Essex with all the travelling party likely to play a part at some stage, as is usual at this point in pre-season.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for senior citizens and under-18s, and are available on the gate.

Great to see him fit and playing again, really believe he can be an important player for us this year. Hurst likes to play a 4-1-4-1 system and think he would be great as that 1st 1. COYB

Shame Trevoh will not be there as with England under 19s. Looks like he will miss all the clubs pre season while away with England

Let's hope that the injury has done no lasting damage and he can achieve his old form.

Iron welcome Championship neighbours Ipswich Town to Cressing Road on Saturday, 14th July, with kick-off at 3pm. The Portman Road side have indicated that they will be bringing a strong side to test Braintree, newly promoted back to non-League football's top flight!
Admission for the match will be just £10 for adults and only £5 for OAPs and under 18s. Tickets for the match will not be available in advance and all spectators can pay at the appropriate turnstile (1-4) on arrival. A colour programme will be available - just £2. The clubhouse will be open before, during and after the match with a range of Molson Coors finest ales and lagers. Unfortunately spectators will NOT be allowed to bring drinks into the stadium. Hot food and drink, plus ices and cool drinks will also be on sale. No segregation will be in place.
