Sears Wins Goal of the Month
Friday, 15th Feb 2019 08:59

Freddie Sears’s strike at Aston Villa won the Sky Bet Goal of the Month award for January.

The 29-year-old, who has since been ruled out for between nine months and a year after suffering an ACL injury at Norwich, picked up 44 per cent of the vote for his brilliant effort from distance which found the top corner, following the Blues building from the back.

QPR midfielder Luke Freeman and Rotherham United defender Semi Ajayi were the other players nominated.

As it should have done. Sky didn't even show the build up on the clip.

Well done Freddie! Hopefully that will cheer him up a little

Well deserved and absolutely gutted for Freddie that he is now injured, one of our largely unsung heroes of the last couple of years. Always does a job for the team, gives everything and is a model pro despite being repeatedly not being used in his favoured position. Really hope he gets himself back fit for next season as he can be a huge asset for us if we go down.

Play him in his best position in the middle, and he will do that. I'm not surprised at all.

Sadly wasted so often, in our Shirt unfortunately.
