Holy Impressed By Portman Road
Tuesday, 18th Jun 2019 18:32

New Blues keeper Tomas Holy says he can’t wait to play in front of a big crowd at Portman Road.

Former Gillingham man Holy, who joined Town on a Bosman free transfer last month, has been impressed by his new home ground.

“I have looked around the stadium and it’s massive. It’s a massive club,” the 27-year-old 6ft 9in tall Czech told iFollow Ipswich.

“I can’t wait to play here with a big crowd, a full house. It will be incredible.""

“It’s a big challenge for me, coming to a club like Ipswich, but it’s one I am ready for.

"It’s the right move for me and I’m excited about getting pre-season going and meeting up with my new team-mates.

""“I think Ipswich will enjoy League One and the potential is here to go higher up the leagues and I want to be part of it.”

Holy and the rest of his team-mates will be at Playford Road for the start of pre-season training on Monday.

Reliably informed from close and first hand witness that this is a good man, lovely character who should go down very well at PRd,

Can't wait to get started, such a buzz about the place and I hear great things about Blue Action

A full house? Sadly, it will be a long wait for him.

Perhaps we are supposed to infer from the full house comment that he is moving in with Chambers?

I hope it goes very well for you.
Portman Road is certainly a great place to be when the attendances are high. Not seen for a few years but I firmly believe we have now reached the bottom point and we can all look forward to an encouraging future.

full house - not quite but expect 25000 at home to Sunderland, 1st game of the season

Looking forward to seeing the Holy1, I really think he can step up and become our first choice keeper.

To be fair to Holy, Gillingham's average attendances are around 5k Mark , so playing in front of
16-19k at Portman Road IS going to feel like s full house to him. And if the SBR ( Blue Action) atmosphere continues as it ended last season , the noise will be something to behold!
