Judge in Provisional Ireland Squad Friday, 16th Aug 2019 15:45 Blues midfielder Alan Judge has been named in a provisional Republic of Ireland squad for next month's matches against Switzerland and Bulgaria. Former Town boss Mick McCarthy, who was at the Blues’ Carabao Cup tie at Luton on Tuesday, has named a 40-man provisional party for the Euro 2020 qualifier against the Swiss at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Thursday 5th September and a friendly with the Bulgarians at the same venue on Tuesday 10th September. Judge, 30, has previously won six full caps and has scored one international goal. Also in the squad are ex-Blues David McGoldrick and Conor Hourihane. The call could see Judge miss the Rochdale match on Saturday 7th September with no international breaks in League One. However, if the Blues have three players selected for international squads Town could ask to have the game postponed, something it's likely manager Paul Lambert would do if he has the required number of calls.
