Friday, 30th Aug 2019 11:53

Midfielder Andre Dozzell has been named in the England U20 squad for their friendlies against Holland and Switzerland next month.

The Young Lions face the Dutch at Shrewsbury’s Montgomery Waters Meadow on Thursday 5th September and then the Swiss at the Stadion Rankhof four days later.

Dozzell, 20, has been capped three times at U20 level in addition to caps with the U16s, U17s, U18s and U19s.

To get in the current England u20,s squad you must be some hell of a player.
So far I've seen an ok player with potential. National level have seen different.
These younger England national age groups now, aren't just the best players in England but the best in the world. The u16 to U21s England teams are the envy of every other nation.

Strange that Flynn isn't there too

I reckon that PL was more fearful of losing him than the others. In hindsight I wonder if he regrets calling the Rochdale game off?

The way England play at every level, absolutely suits him. I'm convinced he would look miles a better player in a team that has loads of the ball. He just ain't the player who's going to go and win the ball for you. I understand the fans loving Flynn. He's whole hearted, brave, confident and an all round good box to box midfielder but he isn't in the same league as Andre technically
