Nsiala Set to Return to Blues as Bolton Loan Ends
Wednesday, 6th May 2020 11:52

Defender Toto Nsiala appears set to return to the Blues with his Bolton Wanderers loan having ended earlier this week.

The Trotters would be able to extend the 28-year-old’s stay - and that of their other loanees including ex-Blues loan player Anthony Georgiou - to cover the planned resumption of League One, which is currently pencilled in for June.

However, according to the Bolton News, Wanderers won’t make a decision on whether to keep them until after the EFL confirms whether League One will be completed, something which appears increasingly in question.

It’s understood that if Nsiala’s loan spell isn’t extended and the season's remaining games do take place, the former Shrewsbury man would be eligible to play for Town.

Nsiala, who endured a frustrating first half of the season with the Blues, joined the Lancastrian club in January and has made 12 starts, only appearing on the winning side once for the division’s bottom-placed side.

The Congo DR international is contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2021 with the club having an option for an additional year.

Not the greatest player but it's not easy for him with the uncertainty going on right now. Not really the time for signing or releasing players and as he is still contracted to us he should be welcomed back and looked after.
That said I don't expect to see him feature much although I would love to see him prove me wrong.

I had forgotten about him. A reasonable player at this level. His big problem having to play alongside captain calamity

Has been shocking at times, but for some reason I am still routing for him to do well at town...

He wears his heart on his sleeve and I respect that. Just needs a bit (a lot) more control going into those tackles in the box. Welcome back, Toto.

One of the worst defenders I've ever seen in a Town shirt. Used to put the fear of God into me every time he was put under any pressure whatsoever! At 28 years old he's way past the "prospect" age.

Do people watch games. This guy has heart and ability, but had his confidence knocked when 2 early mistakes were made when he was trying to overcompensate for his defensive partner !

With Wolfy gone (natch) put him in and only after a decent run of games judge him. Folks might be right to slam Toto, but at least give him a fair crack first.....we may not have any choice anyway !

Need Paul Cooper back with Nsiala on the pitch! At least we knew Cooper had a very good chance of saving any sloppy conceded penalties.

Cooper saved 8 from 10 penalties in the 79/80 season.

Some of our fans really are pathetic. 2 seasons ago he was terrific in this lge, for shrewsbury. Towards the end of last season he was one of, if not, our best defender. He had a bad injury prior to the start of this season, which hampered him when he 1st came into the team and he made a couple of errors, partly due to not being match fit. Then some of our so called fans got on his back and started getting on his back, and his confidence dropped badly leading to more errors in his game. Fans need to give him a chance and get behind him should he play again and maybe with his confidence renewed, his performances will improve.

Scored an own goal for Bolton by kicking the ball into his own face. Got so many mistakes in him. Once the whole situation has cleared up he needs a fresh start somewhere else for his career. Had one good season for Shrewsbury but thats it.

Totally agree with many posts on here. Nobody can question Nsiala when it comes to commitment and athleticism and he was a decent player at Shrewsbury until he was injured. Since arriving here he has shown an excellent attitude but his footballing ability has to be questioned at this level. He lacks any composure and his decision making is questionable at best. He doesn't appear to understand when to stay on his feet and when to commit to a tackle. He has lost all confidence and even looks out of place in the u23's. I wish many other players has his desire but for me he has to move on with better youngsters waiting in the wings
