Donation From Town Face Masks to NHS
Friday, 22nd May 2020 19:45

Town are selling face masks featuring Blues badges with a percentage of the profits going to the NHS locally.

The washable reusable masks come in two designs, one featuring the current badge and one the pre-1995 crest, and cost £10 each.

They are available for pre-order to arrive in around four weeks’ time with a percentage of the profits donated to the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, also known as Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals Charity. They can be purchased via the Planet Blue website here.

Whilst some of the profits going to the NHS is obviously great. Can't help but think these look absolute tack.

I'm getting one. Even when the pandemic is finally over I am still going to keep my mask to wear at away games at Norwich as you never know what you might pick up at their place!

Nothing says True Blue fan more than an ITFC branded charity face mask for a tenner without questioning what percentage actually goes to the charity or effectiveness of the mask.
Tenner direct to the charity works better for me.

Honestly if it isn't 100% going to the charity I cant condone it.
Can see why people are buying it and it's a nice gesture.
But unless they state the exact amount I'd rather give money directly to the charity which i will.

I think £10 is a bit steep tbh . I can get a face mask , well made and sold via a local shop to me
( IP4), and they are £5. They also make donations to NHS .

So how much are Town donating ?? .. a £1 per mask ? I don't know. But it just seems like yet another piece of opportunism (as is the case by so many companies in this current climate), with the sweetener of offering some probable small level of donation.

It's not as if it's something that they've sold before that they've racked up the price of. They will have spent money acquiring them. As I've already got a mask I won't be buying, but I don't think this should be made into some kind of moral issue.

Not for me.
Fortuna's masks cost £6 ? (+postage etc.)
I'd prefer a 3d Bluey or Crazee full head covering.
