Vincent-Young Feeling Good
Thursday, 30th Jul 2020 10:13

Right-back Kane Vincent-Young says he’s feeling good having recovered from the groin injury which saw his 2019/20 season end in October.

The 24-year-old joined the Blues for £500,000 from Colchester in August last year and made a hugely impressive start to his Town career before requiring two groin operations which ended his season after only nine games and two goals for his new club.

“My groin feels good,” the Londoner told the club website. “As tragic as lockdown and the virus has been, it has given me and the other injured players a chance to get back up to speed.

“It’s great to be back, great to see the boys after so long and I’m feeling good and really looking forward to the next couple of weeks.”

Vincent-Young says the Blues need to get 2020/21 up and running quickly as they target a return to the Championship at the second attempt following a disappointing 11th place in his first campaign at Portman Road.

“I think the aims have to be the same as what we had last season,” the former Tottenham academy youngster added.

“We need to get back up. We have a good squad and hopefully we have a clear run in terms of injuries.

"A strong start is important and hopefully we maintain that along the course of the season to get back to where we need to be."

Meanwhile, released Town forward Jordan Roberts, 26, is reported to be interesting Doncaster, Salford and Scunthorpe in addition to his former loan club Gillingham.

It's vital he starts the season fit in my opinion by far and away our greatest attacking asset . Mind you that's not saying much very little creativity at the club.

Hopefully he stays fit as he's a very important player.

By far my favourite Town player. Such a level headed speaker, injuries or the avoidance of such will be crucial this year.

A fully fit squad is a very good squad at this level.

A vital part of the team and when playing was a major attacking option as well as a good defender. With him and Edwards on the right, we should be a major force, just need to sort the left out now with Garbutt having left.
Football is great and opinions on players is all interesting. We see him as one of the rising stars, however when we signed him, a number of friends of mine who are Col U supporters could not believe we paid £500k for him, but we think he is an absolute bargain.
This is why forums like this are so great !!!
Everyone has one and is entitled to their opinion !!!

"Feeling good" ? Oooh I feel a song coming on.
Can we have a roll call of the whole squad on how they're feeling ?

With KVY flying down one wing and Jack Lancaster attacking down the other this could be like having 2 very good new signings

Great having him back and fingers crossed that he gets through the season without any significant injuries as he is a key player.
A fully fit starting eleven like the following should provide results and entertainment.
Holy
K-VY Woolfie T Smith (senior) Kenlock (or Nydam)
Edwards Downes Huws Lankester
Norwood Jackson (or Sears)

Bench: Wright, Wilson, Donacien, Bishop, Judge, (Sears, Nydam)

Sorry forgot Dobra who could be eased in as a late game sub running at tired defenders........

KVY speaks so well. He is incredibly articulate and sounds like an ambitious, hard working young man.

Could he be a shout for a role as team captain? With Chambers and Skuse playing a lot less this season (hopefully!) and Downes potentially moving on, I think KVY would be my choice. He’s also probably the one player in our squad that everyone agrees on should be our team every week!

KiwiBlue2, If fit and able & you want a balanced side with more of a threat, you would have Lancaster on the right & Dobra on the left....forget about Edwards.

Just hope PL finds a formation that allows him to impact play in opposition half rather than be shackled like Mick kept doing to Mings. Him and Lancaster on either flank sounds good to me, though ITFC playing with genuine width will be very strange indeed !
