Stevenage Friendly Off
Monday, 19th Jul 2021 10:52

Tuesday’s pre-season friendly against Stevenage at Needham Market has been cancelled.

The League Two club have pulled out of the fixture which was moved to Bloomfields from Boro’s training ground last week for what we understand are Covid-related reasons.

A statement from the Hertfordshire side reads: "Stevenage have now been forced to pull out of the fixture due to circumstances beyond the club's control."

The Blues are now next in action when Crystal Palace visit Portman Road on Saturday (KO 3pm). Ticketing details for that match and the friendly at home to Millwall the following weekend are set to be announced today.

Maybe a good thing
Let's concentrate on the training pitch and working on things as for me so far results have been very underwhelming

Needham had positive tests at the weekend and cancelled their fixture against Felixstowe so no surprise.

Bigpaulyd. What are you on about? A win with a team 2nd half full of youth players. And a narrow defeat against a team who were in the pl last season. And results are of no importance whatsoever in pre season. It's all about fitness and getting the team playing together. Presumably had u been around in 1979/80 season ud have been saying the same. Lost every preseason match. Finished 2nd in the league. But that's a typical comment from some of our fans nowadays I guess. Shows the total lack of knowledge some have.

That's a shame. Bought train tickets in advance from London. First time on a train to the area in 18mths. Just a day out, as I can't get a refund. Weather looks nice around there atm.

Wow it's the same people who criticize other people for having an opinion which isn't the same as theirs. Of course these people are always correct. Some of your comments to people who give an opinion that they are not overwhelmed by what's going on at our club at the moment make me laugh. I know lots of people who work and have worked at the club and I can tell you it's not all as rosie as some of you believe.

I'm glad I live in a glass half full world. Some on here must lead very depressing lives. Be positive and look forwards to the coming season. It might not all work our but I'm full of genuine optimism

Not sure anyone can flatter themselves over the pandemic apart from the NHS. Why should we! I was a so called key worker, what a load of tosh that title was! People know the score now for sure. Plus I'm no Tory fan but think they have done okay. Glad labour were nowhere near. Looks like they won't be for a while.

Upthetown1970 I think the fact you're criticising people who criticise is a little ironic lol. We all have an opinion but when it's the same people who moan at every little thing then say last two seasons team was good enough and cook should've got us promoted when two managers couldn't we finished in our lowest position in over 60 years and those exact players are now plying their trades in league two is ridiculous at best. The new owners, CEO, Chairman and manager are criticised by those same people without even a ball being kicked as yet at every turn yet never comment on anything positive funny that but that's why they get down marked and criticised by most.

Blues1 let's not forget losing every pre season game in john Lyall championship winning season and the amount of games we lost pre season under burley but had the most exciting time during the season under him.
