Town’s U23s won 3-1 away against Stowmarket Town this afternoon with Tawanda Chirewa netting twice and Harley Curtis once.

Chirewa has enjoyed a potent pre-season having netted the first-team's winner at Dartford and the only goal in the U23s' victory at Needham Market.

Former Town winger Reggie Lambe scored for Stowmarket, whose side also included Chris Casement and Jack Ainsley.

Meanwhile, the U18s were beaten 2-1 by West Ham with Jesse Nwabueze the Blues’ scorer.

Hope to see both of them in first team action before the end of the season. If Chirewa continues to score and create opportunities for goals like he is doing....bigger clubs will be in for him in January. Must put faith in him now even if it's only as an occasional sub...

Linkboy13 added 14:06 - Aug 1 Midsatouch could both be involved against Newport but only the coaching staff will know if they are ready not the likes of us who dont see them day in day out in training. Nolan if fit should play and also Downes who at the moment is not showing the commitment or desire to win Cook over or get himself a move more importantly.
