Jackson and Burns in Teams of the Week
Sunday, 20th Feb 2022 15:08

Striker Kayden Jackson has been named in the EFL Team of the Week and the Sky Bet League One Team of the Week for his display in yesterday’s 3-0 home victory over Burton with Wes Burns joining him in the latter.

Jackson scored the Blues’ first in the 42nd second then assisted the second and third for Burns and Bersant Celina after the break.

In addition to his goal, Burns assisted Jackson’s early strike and played a part in Celina’s.

Having two fast forward players must really give defences a problem facing us now, and takes the pressure off Burns somewhat I'd say .

The last couple of games has given Jackson a chance to play his natural game and yesterday was the "i can play statement" i for one thought he was all speed and no thought but his game yesterday(credit to K.M) has shown what happens when confidence is shown by the manager, as for Burns i would say personally he has been our best signing, we have combinations up front(norwood and bonne on the bench) to cover injuries and the important thing is when anyone goes onto the park they know what is expected of them, just to add i thought Piggott had a good game too everyone is being made to feel involved for a change.

Good to see two of our team in the team of the week, but I am surprised that Walton hasn't made it also.
