Ex-Spurs Youngster Hudson U23s Trialist
Tuesday, 19th Apr 2022 11:41

Hertford Town left-back Max Hudson was the trialist who featured for the Blues' U23s during last Tuesday’s 1-0 win at Bristol City, TWTD understands.

Hudson, 17, was with Tottenham’s academy as a schoolboy but wasn’t offered a scholarship last summer and subsequently joined Southern League Division One Central Hertford.

Town boss Kieran McKenna is likely to be familiar with Hudson having been the U18s coach at Spurs while Hudson was playing for younger age groups.

It’s believed a number of EFL clubs have been keeping tabs on Hudson in addition to the Blues.

This would be a good start, another left side midfield and two strikers, I like Ironside at Cambridge.

Ironside has played very well against us but not sure he plays like that week in/ week out.

No idea about Max Hudson to be honest.

Hudson sounds good. Not so sure about Ironside: he seems like a Piggott mk2.

Love the conjecture.....only had to mention a triallist to get it going and the season is not even over yet !

I suspect 2 things; firstly that the sort of players we will go after will rarely be so obvious or even from this continent, and secondly that we wont likely hear a thing until the deals are done.

I firmly believe 1 thing; it will be a better summer in the transfer market than we have ever had; yes better than the hit and miss rebuild of last year.

Trust the process. COYB....whoever you are or may be !

Only been on trial and people are starting to get excited. I think McKenna will be setting the bar much higher than Ironside in the summer.

The lad, even if he signs, will be one for the future. I think KMac will be looking for players around the 22/23 mark that we can develop within the first team and sell on at a higher price. He and Ashton have all but said as much. I think Bakinson and Thompson were attempts at this within the limited Jan window. I know they are loans but I think we've got an option to buy Bakinson and possibly Thompson too?
