More Than 27,000 Tickets Sold For Pompey Clash
Tuesday, 27th Sep 2022 20:22

Town have sold more than 27,000 tickets for Saturday’s second-v-third game against Portsmouth at Portman Road, the first match in October’s #PackOutPR promotion.

The Blues have reprised last December’s successful campaign with an adult ticket bundle covering the three home matches during October costing £45 and single games £20.

Full details of the scheme, which also covers the Lincoln and Derby home matches, can be found here.

The attendance will be the highest of the season - 26,688 watched the opening day fixture against Bolton Wanderers - and close to a sell-out with Portman Road's capacity these days 29,673.

Marcus

Assume so, if not it's already a sell-out as they get 2,000-ish.

How to run a club and fill the stadium, which is such a boost for players they will all tell you, this regime know what they are doing and they are doing it so well.

Incredible really. Hats off to the owners and Ashton for reengaging with fans and bringing some much needed life back to PR. Club just needs to deliver on the pitch now.

That's the first time I've seen a revised capacity mentioned? It's around the number I expected, given the changes and improvements made at PR over the years.

I believe the restricted view seats number around 2000 (don't know exact figure), so any attendance over 27,000 is effectively a sell-out of all the unrestricted view seats, which is fantastic support.

2000 plus restricted view seats seems very high?!? How restricted are these seats? Can't see the corner flag etc? We shouldn't be putting people of buying theses tickets if you can see 95% of the pitch. Must be another way of categorizing these seats differently!

Fantastic crowd numbers especially considering this is league 1.
I remember being in the crowd for the Leeds United cup match where 38,010 were packed in!

I admit I was out of order previous when you lose your wife unexpectedly and far to young , and was my companion through all the supporting years but I apologise to all of you except one indivual , you won't get that bitterness again , but I am still excited with the big crowd I still believe in Aston and McKenna , will always follow away to even on a long long coach journey , I do worry about the injuries to key players s as bd despite big squad I worry that we didn't
the areas that are key , I just wonder why we don't dip into the out of work players I'm amazed by some of the name Fabian Delphi at 32 surely would cover a lot of positions if only short term what do you think blue boys

Slade 1, I remember that game too. If you put your hand in your pocket it was probably someone else's pocket. Squeezed in doesn't quite describe it but what an atmosphere.

anyone else remember the 1973 match against Arsenal? Was a crown around 35000 and the younger supporters were seated on the pitch in front of the north stand. Those were the days!

It's great to see us season ticket holders being rewarded with a decent amount to spend in the club shop too. Will come in very handy for Christmas this year.

Slase1, me too. I think it was just a couple of weeks after we had 37k+ for Liverpool. Unbelievable atmospheres especially with Curchmans terracing being made of WOOD. Justglad I survived the Leeds match to return to The North. Happy days.

Now is the time to stamp authority and win the game. Two disappointing away results. Three points at home a must.

I can also remember the 38,010. With several others I was collecting names on a petition to extend the Centre Spot's licensing hours to cover non-match days, which proved very popular and was successful. I got in to my usual spot in the Churchman's end of the East stand (a standing area) about 10 minutes before kick-off
