Crawford on Life's a Pitch
Friday, 30th Sep 2022 09:48

Town and Portsmouth legend Ray Crawford is the star guest on Saturday’s Life’s a Pitch, which is live on BBC Radio Suffolk (12-2pm).

Host Mark Murphy will be joined in the studio by legend-in-residence Terry Butcher, Tractor Boy and TWTD's Phil Ham.

Crawford was a member of Sir Alf Ramsey’s team which won the old Second Division and First Division titles in 1960/61 and 1961/62 and also the side which carried off the Second Division title in 1967/68.

The 86-year-old will be giving his thoughts on hometown club Portsmouth ahead of the game against the Blues.

Joining the regulars in the studio will be EADT columnist Karl Fuller, who has written a new book, Town on the Telly.

Will Town beat Pompey? Should the Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth results be a concern?

Send your thoughts on those questions or anything else via Mark’s Twitter or during the show by phone on 0800 141 2121 or text to 81333 starting your message with SFK.

The show can be heard on 95.5FM, 95.9FM, 103.9FM and 104.6FM, and on DAB, or online via a widget on this page by clicking here.

Along with the Beat a true legend whose goal scoring feat for us is not going to be surpassed, probably ever.

Statute needed. Ray and Ted, the most fearsome forwards in the British football in their day. They certainly put this small town club ( one of the youngest league clubs to boot) on the global football map. Simply marvellous.
