Agbaje Tops Off Debut Week With Two Goals in U21s Victory Friday, 21st Oct 2022 16:10 Right-back Edwin Agbaje topped off the week in which he made his senior debut by scoring twice as he captained the U21s to a 3-2 victory over Bristol City at Playford Road. The Republic of Ireland U18 international, who made his first-team bow from the start in Tuesday’s Papa Johns Trophy tie at Cambridge, put the young Blues in front from the penalty spot in the ninth minute. Striker Gerrard Buabo made it 2-0 on 37, then, after Town keeper Nick Hayes had been replaced by Woody Williamson having suffered a knock, Agbaje made it three with his second of the afternoon in first-half injury time. There was still time before the whistle for the Robins to be reduced to 10 men when Joe Low was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence. In the second half, Henry Leeson and Prince Henry pulled goals back for the visitors despite the disparity in numbers but the Blues claimed all three points. Cameron Burgess and Panutche Camara both started for the Blues as they look to get match minutes under their belts before being replaced by Zak Bradshaw and Alfie Cutbush in the second half. Town: Hayes (Williamson), Agbaje (c), Hudson, Armin, Burgess (Bradshaw), Stewart, Nwabueze, Camara (Cutbush), Buabo, Chirewa, Siziba. Subs: Curtis, Valentine.
