Blues legend James Scowcroft and Craig Whymark, the son of 1970s striker Trevor Whymark, are guests on Life’s a Pitch, which is live on BBC Radio Suffolk over Saturday lunchtime (12-2pm).

Connor Bennett is hosting the show for the rest of the season and will be joined by legend-in-residence Terry Butcher, while Tractor Boy and TWTD’s Phil Ham will be at London Road ahead of the game against Peterborough United.

Scowcroft was the Player of the Year in 1999/00 when Town last won promotion, to the Premier League via the play-offs, and regularly catches the current Blues in action, while also working in recruitment for Crystal Palace.

As reported earlier in the week, Craig Whymark (pictured below left with Trevor and his brother) is raising funds for the Alzheimer's Society, his father having been diagnosed with the degenerative brain disease in 2019.

He speaks in depth about Trevor, the impact of the disease on the 72-year-old one-time England striker and his family, and his fundraising campaign.

He could control the ball with his head and cheat better than i could my feet. Very sad to hear of his alzheimers diagnosis and wish him all very best.

Telford_Blue added 10:56 - Apr 22 Trevor is my favourite town player ever. When I ran out to play football as a five year old and we picked who we were going to be I was always Trevor Whymark! He was a major reason why in a Lowestoft based family of Budgies (bar my grandad) I became a blue and have been ever since. So sad to read of his illness and wish Trevor and his family as much happiness as this horrible illness will allow them.
