Town Announce Ticket Touting Policy Friday, 29th Sep 2023 09:10 Town have outlined the new ticket touting policy which was announced at the recent Fans’ Forum. The policy has been introduced following the illicit reselling of tickets via social media, in some cases in order to gain points on the new Super Blues membership system in order to stand a greater chance of gaining seats for higher demand matches, such as the derby at Norwich City. If season ticket holders are unable to make games, season ticket holders can contact the ticket office and ask to pass their season cards - or alternatively a PDF version - on to family or friends only with a fee involved if the seat has to be upgraded. This is not possible for away games where the club will be randomly selecting purchasers to collect tickets at the away ground, ensuring that they are the one attending the match. The club say they may also take additional steps including spot checks at away grounds. Town say they aren’t taking the issue lightly: “We take ticket touting very seriously and will work to limit the supply of tickets to the 'illegal black market’. “We will start to conduct ticket checks at away games based on random selections, as well as using intelligence or information provided by fans, to make calls to supporters suggesting they are looking to sell without the permission of the club. “We will consistently look at processes and policies and where applicable make changes with the view of preventing supporters touting their tickets.” If fans see tickets being sold via third parties, the club are encouraging them to email touting@itfc.co.uk including details of where they have been advertised and for how much so they can investigate. A full Q&A on the matter can be found on the club website.
