Town Eyeing Ahmedhodžić Tuesday, 13th Aug 2024 19:57 TWTD understands Town are showing interest in Sheffield United central defender Anel Ahmedhodžić.
Bosnia & Herzegovina international Ahmedhodžić, 25, was a schoolboy with hometown club Malmö in Sweden before moving to Nottingham Forest’s academy.
He returned to Malmö having made one senior sub appearance for Forest and made his first-team breakthrough back with his local side.
Loan spells with Hobro IK and Bordeaux in France followed before the 6ft 5in tall centre-half moved on to Sheffield United in the summer of 2022.
Ahmedhodžić was capped by Sweden U17, U18, U21 and full levels - just once in a friendly - before he switched his allegiance to Bosnia & Herzegovina, the country of his parents’ birth. He has now won 24 caps, scoring one international goal.
We understand Ahmedhodžić is on Town's list of potential central defensive recruits as they look to strengthen that area of the squad before the transfer window closes.
Contrary to our earlier report, there is nothing in widespread rumours linking Ahmedhodžić's teammate Gustavo Hamer.

Blueboy1981. You really believe Saturdays game will tell us anything at all? Get real. Nor will the following saturday. Anything we get from those 2 games would be a big bonus.

ArnieM There is a big difference in being tolerant and being onboard with a particular campaign. There are multiple reasons why people wouldn't want to be involved in an LGBT campaign. Some gay people even don't agree with what they see as a political movement. As far as I have seen, Ahmedhodžić and certainly Morsy have not come out and spoken on the topic and said anything offensive/inappropriate. I imagine the club would think that someone crossing the line into publicly disparaging being gay. It is unreasonable to expect to dictate morals and views that people keep to themselves.

There are some extreme views on here in that anyone we are buying now is going to be a panic buy. This is clearly not true. The season starts on Saturday, but it does not end on Saturday. The transfer window ends at the end of August (maybe the start of September) and some of the better players are only made available later in the window. MA and KM have a very good track record, but it would be inaccurate to say that they don't have the potential to panic buy. Ahadme and Camera stick out as signings that were rushed.

Tractorboybig. If ur gonna, slag a player off before he's even kicked a ball in anger, you could at least get ur facts right. You say delap is £18m over-the-counter top, despite the fact, as it stands, we've inly paid £15m. The other £5m is in add ons which hsvent come yet. Why not give thd guy a chance before writing him off. Apart from anything else, he's having to adapt to playing centrally again, after his last 2 loans, when,he's been played out wide. And in the last 2 friendlies, he's been excellent. Both against teams from their countries top division, and who are in Europe this season.

blues1 I agree that the recruitment deadline is not before the Liverpool match, but we should all be expecting a performance and not to get tonked. We will learn something about the spirit of the team and whether they can really run to true adversity. Even if we go 5-0 down I expect our players to put the effort in and the crowd to back the players.

blues1 It does feel like Delap has been targeted by a few fans probably because they don't agree with the price tag. However, Delap has shown his class in the Championship and was looking fairly good in friendlies. I have ever confidence in him coming good. I just think he needs a little time to adapt to the way we play and he will improve with KM's coaching. It is very unfair to judge to harshly when we haven't even played our first match. Even Ladapo looked pretty sharp against Nice. Let's just do our best to help the players reach the best of their ability by getting behind them!
