First 2 City goals were very avoidable. Soft penalty given by VAR against Davis (if that was a penalty, why didn't VAR give us one when Davis was brought down in the City box?) & dithering when playing out from the back (we will have to get sharper at this).

Sorry but that was a penalty all day for us with that challenge on Davis.

Watched the 2 penalty decisions over a number of times and you can't see any real contact on Savinho...he goes flying as if his foot was caught in a bear trap, our call was as good as theirs. We still probably would have lost but not the point.

I thought BBC MOTD was pretty biased towards City. Very little said about a new team to the PL - surely that would be of interest to the general football public who have no doubt heard about Haarland, City and Guardiola plently of times already. Their penalty looked very soft indeed on tv, but it wasn't even discussed. And our own penalty shout wasn't even shown to the best of my knowledge. But there you go - it's all about the Big Boys now.

Oh, and for those knocking Muric, Pickford made a very similar error vs Spurs - and he's the England goalie. I.e. it can happen to anyone. Give the guy a break!

to those of you complaining about penalties, just before the end man City were denied a stonewall penalty decision with no VAR, so kind of evens that out, as for the one given it was borderline and the ref watched it so many times for me that says he wasn't sure, but then gave it. Welcome to the Premier League.

Walton had a shocker against Bolton in L 1 1-5 I think, and did well for the rest of the season. Therefore Muric with extra coaching will improve. We are building a better team. Trust in the project.

Ours was a pen - was VAR used ? whether Davis had the ball under control or not he was clattered. Does anyone know how to check the VAR dialogue over that incident ?

It would be good to get an explanation from the officials on how that challenge on Davis was not a penalty. Baffles me. He was sandwiched between two players, one coming in from the side didn't even get close to going for the ball. Shockingly bad decision that someone needs to explain, especially when the prizes and the costs are so high.

Music, I'm sure, will prove to be an excellent signing, but I can't help thinking he wasn't ready for this match and that Walton deserved his place yesterday.

Two very similar penalty shouts, neither given by the ref; one gets VAR intervention and one doesn't. Two plausible explanations: the first is that the one given was for Man City and the one not given was for Ipswich i.e. VAR bias; the only other possible explanation is that for our appeal play continued for ages and it was 'forgotten' by the time play stopped.. Next time we have a penalty appeal we need to commit a cheap foul or kick the ball out and make a fuss so that a VAR check happens.

A few asking above about VAR, and from what the in-game commentators said on Opus, VAR did have a look at the Davis pen shout, but they decided on no-intervention. That happened while the ball was still in play.

As others have said, it did seem ridiculous that we didn’t get that. I agree theirs was a penalty, but ours seemed a more clear penalty decision.

The issue with the non VAR event with LD is that Man City have cheated. Hopefully they will be found guilty over the 115 charges and maybe relegated following a huge points deduction. Otherwise the PL is crooked and favours the top six sides.

Bournemouth robbed of a win over Newcastle yesterday...not 1 Newcastle player put their hand up thinking it was handball (clearly off the shoulder) and the ref thought it was okay then VAR came in and overturned that decision which was NOT a clear and obvious mistake!
