Thursday, 3rd Oct 2024 12:38

Town quartet Dara O’Shea, Sammie Szmodics, Chiedozie Ogbene and Jack Taylor have been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their UEFA Nations League games against Finland and Greece during the international break.

The Irish take on the Finns on Thursday 10th October in Helsinki, then face the Greeks in Piraeus three days later.

O’Shea has previously won 28 caps, Ogbene 22, scoring four times, and Szmodics six. Taylor is yet to win a senior cap despite a number of previous calls, although this is his first this season, having played at U21 level seven times.

Also in the party is former Town loanees Troy Parrott, now with AZ Alkmaar, and Mark McGuinness, currently with Luton who is in the squad for the first time.
