Lowestoft Boss Joins Town Staff
Wednesday, 23rd Oct 2024 11:22

Lowestoft Town manager Jamie Godbold is joining the Blues as coach development manager, an academy role.

Godbold, 44, has been a player and manager with the Trawlerboys for more than 20 years, and despite stepping down as boss will be staying on as director of football on a consultancy basis.

“While we are all gutted to be losing Jamie, this was too good an opportunity for him to miss,” a spokesman for the Lowestoft board of directors said.

“However, Godders will still be involved in his head of football role with the club, and on the board of directors, as he will still be the lead on all football development matters from the first team down to our thriving youth section - so his DNA will still be prominent within the club.”

Former keeper Andy Reynolds, who was on the bench for Town’s U18s when they won the FA Youth Cup in 2005, takes over as first-team boss with the Southern League Premier Central division side.

Good for him. I went to the same primary school as him in Lowestoft, he was a pretty good player & often played against older kids as he was too good for his own age group.
